The Opportunity

Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management (“CC&L”), an affiliate of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group, is looking for an Equity Research Analyst to join our Vancouver-based Fundamental Canadian Equity Team.

You will work closely with the Portfolio Managers and will gain exposure to several different sectors. CC&L’s Fundamental Equity Team is comprised of seven industry veterans and three research analysts who manage over $10 billion in fundamental Canadian equity mandates. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to, as well as learn and grow with, one of Canada’s leading investment management teams.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with the Portfolio Managers to research companies and make investment decisions for Canadian equity portfolios
  • Provide research and analysis of Canadian equities
  • Consolidate and analyze information from company financial statements, industry conferences and company presentations, analysts, and company management teams
  • Build and maintain financial models
  • Present stock recommendations to the Portfolio Managers

What We are Looking For

  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience in an equity analyst role, ideally on the sell-side, buy-side or in investment banking
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to consolidate and focus a large amount of data into succinct written and verbal communications
  • Confidence and comfort in expressing opinions and making decisions
  • Comfortable with both a collaborative and debating-driven approach to communication
  • A growth mindset; proven ability to bounce back and learn from mistakes
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Completion of CFA Level 1 is preferred
  • Desire to live in Vancouver for the long-term
