Corporate Finance Associate M&A

With nearly a decade of presence and a very impressive shelf of tombstones adorning the office walls, the reputation of DIFC headquartered Lumina Capital Advisers continues to attract a significant dealflow of interesting and newsworthy corporate finance mandates both regionally and internationally, with a good deal of UK - Middle East cross border work given their pedigree and presence in London. The team is led by highly experienced bankers with a good deal of global pedigree supported by technically competent and commercially astute individuals who take real pride in their work.

We are seeking a new associate to support their ever increasing workload. They will operate in a collegiate and often jovial atmosphere where team members feel personal responsibility for the outcomes of the firm and are given the freedom and flexibility to perform their tasks as they need, but always with an eye to discipline, excellence and rigour in their work.

The firm operates a very flat structure meaning that new hires will immediately be exposed to all aspects of the deal lifecycle from origination and marketing support, financial modelling, IM development, buyer research and the full project management of the deal lifecycle. This offers an unusual opportunity to learn the full spectrum of M&A advisory processes and mindsets from individuals who have operated across major financial centres globally on many compelling and complex deals.

We need to ensure the quality and consistency of output from the team, and as such we will be very rigorous in our selection. A starting point for requirements will be:

Essential:

• We are seeking individuals exclusively from one of the following backgrounds:
  • Investment Banking / Corporate Finance Advisory with 4-7 years of experience of actual deal execution experience.
  • Transaction Services, if you are a qualified CA with 3+ years of audit experience then we need at least 2 years of solid experience in a TS team, if not qualified (but have an MSc Finance, CFA), then we need at least 4 years' experience of TS operating at Manager, AM or at least senior associate for over a year.
• Must have a high degree of financial competence backed up by a CA, CFA, CAIA or an MSc Finance from a reputable university.
• Will have strong financial modelling experience, with the ability (if not yet direct experience) of articulating business and commercial issues into underlying financial assumptions and forecasts.
• Will have drafted deliverables as part of their prior experience of working on due diligence or M&A transactions, report writing and model explanations.
