As a senior business analyst, you will be joining a senior team in the exciting buildout of a multi-disciplinary support organization in APAC to facilitate Vontobel's ambitious plans to grow in the region across all business lines.

Your opportunity
  • Project management for business expansion plans (change the bank initiatives) in Vontobel APAC, inclusive of facilitating in business planning and execution of build outs.
  • Analyse, evaluate and manage projects for continuous improvements (run the bank) of the operational model of Vontobel APAC.
  • Design and ensure 2nd line controls are in place for the supported legal entities and the businesses that are hosted
  • Ensure that external reporting obligations with regulators (i.e SFC/MAS etc.), exchange parties (i.e HKEx, SGX etc.), tax, and government authorities maintaining corporate registries alike are properly done
  • Act as document owner for Vontobel internal management presentations and reports for APAC
  • Act as framework owner for documentation of Vontobel business policies and procedures and ensure in line with Vontobel group culture and guidelines
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners in Hong Kong/Singapore/Tokyo/Australia.
  • Manage relationships with Vontobel group internal suppliers under SLA and other stakeholders, such as Operations, Transaction Banking, Group Internal Audit, Controlling, Financial Engineering, Product Management, Business Management etc. Facilitate in internal and external audits (Financial, Regulatory, Third Party Vendors)
  • Mapping out and documenting business processes
  • Provide input and facilitate in the implementation of operational processes for the business from a legal entity and control stand point with the aim to standardisation, digitise, and automate where possible
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions to structural setup (tax, legal, regulatory) issues pertaining to the business
  • Provide input in the review of legal paperwork/contracts pertaining to the business to ensure its integrity and intended use
  • Backup actor for support processes and procedures when needed (BCP or general holiday coverage for other service hub colleagues)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics; Professional designations like CFA, CRM a plus but not required
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Very good project management skills/experience
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates a high degree of ownership
  • Strategic thinker and open minded, capacity to think out of the box to identify new approaches
  • Team player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all business lines and support teams spanning multiple time zones and geographical locations.
  • Effective stakeholder management
  • Understanding of system interdependencies
  • Excellent interpersonal/listening skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in written form, with a capacity to adapt his / her communication to various audiences and levels in the organization
  • Good organization and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize competing demands. Comfortable in switching back and forth between project mode and day to day business
