JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a strong Software Engineer to play a key role, deliver solutions to our business partners, solve complex problems, and strive to advance and sustain a world-class platform. As a member of the Investment Platform Technology team, this individual will be responsible for solutions delivery for Portfolio Management teams. This is an ideal opportunity to join a strong, collaborative team and apply business and/or technical skills to enable investment processes to become more effective. This position requires a high level of direct interaction with the firm's talented community of investors and excellent communication and delivery skills. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization. Ongoing training and development will be provided to further develop and hone the individual's technical skillset.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the development and testing of modules in the new investment modelling platform.
  • Learn and support proprietary investment applications used by global investment teams
  • Manage and communicate delivery timelines
  • Provide regular status reports and issue tracking
  • Provide occasional off-hours testing and support
  • Author support documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field with good mathematical acumen
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Developer with solid accomplishments
  • Demonstrated experience developing in a structured programming language like JavaScript, Python, or Java
  • Experience writing SQL and working with database technologies
  • Understanding of modern source control, artifact, and deployment management tools, such as Git, Artifactory or Jenkins CI
  • Knowledge of ANY of the following technologies is a strong plus:
  • ReactJS / AngularJS / JavaScript
  • Node.js
  • GraphQL
  • Python
  • Experience developing applications with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
  • SQL Server / MySQL/ Postgres
  • Market Data (Bloomberg, FactSet, HOLT, S&P, Thompson Reuters)
  • Investment management industry experience is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced business-critical environment
  • Strong delivery focus and ability to proactively overcome obstacles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong follow through skills
  • Attention to detail, self-discipline, and passion to drive and innovate
