Who we're looking for

We're looking for a strong business analyst with a background in data analytics working across the Marketing Technology stack. You will lead and contribute to all aspects of the analysis, design, development and testing in relation to on-going change in data requirements for Marketing Technology platforms. In collaboration with Group Technology teams and our Digital Marketing process experts, we want someone who is passionate about data enablement and building the tools to allow us to deliver world-class client experiences and engagement.

You'll need to be both creative and analytical, with the ability to understand and articulate business challenges and /or ideas, explore them and implement the functionality safely into the production environment. You'll be busy working closely with the business teams, from data scientists, data engineers and analytics professionals, in Marketing, Product and Sales. Marketing analytics, in close partnership with our internal Client Insights Unit, is a dynamic and high growth area of Schroders with a focus on innovation through technology.

The base

This role is based in our APAC regional hub in Singapore and will be part of the Global Digital, Distribution & Marketing Technology team

The team

The Digital Distribution & Marketing Technology team creates and supports the applications and systems used by our Marketing, Sales and Client Servicing teams. Our footprint includes a combination of best-in-class vendor based technology and in-house developed solutions, all designed with the common objective of deepening client engagement through data and insights. Not only do we deploy and optimise data solutions that enable automatic or rapid response to insights from our clients, environment and our Sales and Client Service teams, the team is focused on supporting continuous improvement via new technologies, data sources and artificial intelligence. You will work in a vibrant environment with clever minds that work on a variety of large projects. You will strive to build strong relationships with our nearshore delivery partner and drive improvements across every aspect of solution delivery, including solution analysis, design, technical development and implementation, stakeholder engagement, and roll-out.

What you'll do
  • Interact directly with business users to identify their needs. Leading analysis tasks which contribute to the delivery of data solutions, actively participate in business process design and changes, gather business requirements, and translate those requirements into functional solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure that features and stories, to be delivered, are suitably well defined and structured; as well as to effectively deliver working data solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Partner with data engineers and the wider technology team to enable quality data flows for business insights and personalisation leveraging the Marketing technology stack, second and third party data sources
  • Collaborate actively with product owner to ensure the change pipeline is always up to date, and with broader Digital Marketing and Technology teams to ensure alignment on roadmap.
  • Organize technical changes from requirement gathering, through development, testing up to documentation & user training.
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, planning, including sizing stories, parsing user stories into tasks, demos, etc.; ensuring user stories are delivered to the 'working system' definition of done
  • Manage new data and application onboarding as well as change in existing applications across their entire lifecycle, from design over build, testing and training to the release stage, in collaboration with the vendor and contractors to ensure data requirements are delivered and optimised
  • Work with colleagues from other agile teams and shared service teams to both communicate and accept dependencies
  • Ensure continued improvement through conducting regular retrospective reviews and executing high priority actions that emerge
  • Support users in daily operations (2nd/3rd level incident management)
  • Support other team members to improve their analysis skills and experience
  • Perform the role of Scrum Master for the agile team if required to do so
  • Have a passion for keeping up to date with the latest industry trends in data, Marketing and digital technologies, demonstrate thought leadership and coach other team members


The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Experience working on SQL, web analytics tools (eg Google) and CDP including configuration and application of use cases (eg Tealium, Salesforce or Adobe)
  • Experience working on data visualisation tooling eg Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of contributing to the development of customer data solutions, both in house developed bespoke applications and commercially available off the shelf solutions
  • High level of organisational skills to sustain momentum in multiple work-streams
  • Understands the principles and best practices of data modelling, interface design, code development, and testing, and you can apply these principles in real-world dev environments

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
  • Familiar with Pardot, Salesforce CRM or similar Marketing Automation tools
  • Able to challenge stakeholders diplomatically but robustly when appropriate
  • Capable of balancing timely delivery against strategic development
  • Detailed and logical approach with full traceability of analysis
  • Experience and knowledge of Agile frameworks
  • Experience working in financial services/asset management industry
  • Some projects will be focused on the China market where Mandarin language skills will be advantageous
