The Risk and Compliance function comprises Financial Risk, Operational Risk, Business Continuity and Resilience and Compliance. It forms the second line of defence in the firm's global risk management framework and aims to champion a culture of risk and compliance throughout the organisation.

The function effectively partners with the business to ensure that everyone complies with our external regulatory requirements and expectations, and internal policies and procedures. The Function aims to keep the firm abreast of all regulatory obligations, changes and developments within a rapidly changing regulatory landscape, as well as becoming a trusted adviser in financial, operational and regulatory risks and the controls that are in place to mitigate against these.

Overview of the role

* You will be responsible for helping the Financial Risk team to develop and deliver the risk oversight required to support the business in mitigating the risks associated with counterparty risk, liquidity risk, and market risk oversight, with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region.

Duties and responsibilities

* Provide expertise to the development of the existing Market Risk oversight framework that supports both global requirements as well as region or jurisdiction-specific regulations. This includes both working with, and providing challenge to, the front office investment risk team and fund managers.

* Advise on best practice and technical standards for market risk methodologies, including VaR modelling, leverage, and stress testing.

* Ensure that the Market Risk oversight activities satisfy all relevant regional regulatory requirements.

* Support and develop the Financial Risk team's responsibilities in respect to the Side-by-Side Risk framework and Risk vs Fees initiative. Liquidity Risk Management

* Provide expertise in liquidity risk management good practice in the context of Asia Pacific regulations.

* Support and develop the Financial Risk team's responsibilities in respect to the Capacity framework.

* Partner with the rest of the Financial Risk team to develop and support a firmwide Liquidity Risk Management framework that meets both firm-wide and regulator specific requirements including policy and related procedures for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on liquidity risk. Counterparty Risk Management

* Partner with Financial Risk to develop and support a global counterparty risk program and policy, and related procedures for identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting on counterparty risk.

Other Responsibilities

* Take ownership of Asia Pacific-based monitoring requirements for the key risks,

* Provide challenge and escalate risk issues appropriately.

* Communicate directly with senior management across the business in the Asia Pacific region.

* Act as a mentor for risk analysts in the global team.

* Provide support and development opportunities to junior team members,

* Represent Financial Risk to clients, fund boards and internal committees, as required.

* Develop and produce quarterly, or more frequently as needed, management information and metrics for Board reporting, senior management, and internal oversight committees.

* Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications

* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in market risk management, credit or counterparty management, and liquidity risk management

* Strong understanding and knowledge of quantitative measures of market risk.

* Understanding of regulatory rules and regulations related to investment risk, counterparty risk management, and liquidity risk management, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

* Experience and knowledge of tools to support investment risk management, counterparty risk, and liquidity risk management.

* Knowledge of financial market products, asset management products, and asset management industry preferred.

* Willingness and ability to build, implement, and maintain new processes, and analytical frameworks.

* Degree qualified.

* Professional qualifications such as CFA, PRM and FRM are a plus.
