The Public Equity (EQ) department pursues active management strategies in equity investing. We invest globally and are organised along product groups specialising in different total return, relative return and quantitative strategies.
Asia Pacific Equities Analyst
The Asia Pacific Equities (APEQ) team manages multiple long-only public equity portfolios focused on the Asia Pacific region, and aims to significantly outperform our respective benchmarks through a deep understanding of both country and bottoms-up stock fundamentals.We are looking for a candidate to join the team, based in Singapore, focusing on the pan Asia Pacific Equities market.
Responsibilities
Be a key contributor to the management of our Asia Pacific Equities exposure. This includes analysing companies and making alpha-generating recommendations
Perform analysis on investment ideas as requested by the team, and develop an investment thesis for them
Generate stock ideas independently, while working together with the team to develop them
Conduct due diligence on portfolio companies or candidates, through corporate engagement, site visits, value-chain analysis, consultation with experts and other investors, meetings with suppliers, customers, competitors and on-the-ground data collection
Requirements
1-6 years' experience as a sell- or buy-side equities analyst. Candidates with Private Equity or Investment Banking experience and an interest in value investing and long-only fund management will also be considered
A strong work ethic and willingness to do on-the-ground work - this role will require extensive travel around the region
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Possesses a generalist mindset and has the ability to look across sectors for ideas
Have the intellectual curiosity and drive to conduct deep-dive due diligence on portfolio stocks and candidates
Possesses a good network of industry relationships across Asia Pacific
