As a Barclays Front Office Technology Developer, you will be part of our global Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) Technology team who are accountable for the delivery of business change and technology transformation for our functions globally. You will work on a strategic solution for risk management for the rates options and structured rates trading desk. You will have good understanding of different risk metrics used in interest rates (delta/gamma/vega) and how to use the risk to predict PnL from market moves. You will work closely with the trading desk to solicit feedback, gather requirements and serve as third level of support for development escalations.

What will you be doing?

• Being the primary point of contact for Tokyo trading desk for all IT related questions and requirements.
• Developing and supporting the risk generation platform and desk applications for new risk/model metrics and onboarding of new business
• Discussing workload and priorities with the team in Prague / New York
• Interacting with QA (Quantitative Analytics) and other IT teams to ensure that we assess and use the best technology while owning problems and driving through solutions
• Developing new features and tools to streamline our processes and improve response times for support issues and new business onboarding
• Involved in production release management to enable timely deliver to the business and ensure production stability
• Understanding the needs/challenges of stakeholders and be able to negotiate satisfactory resolution to issues surrounding creation and implementation of technology solutions
• Seeking advice from stakeholders to create clarity in complex situations, understanding problems, evaluating options and making decisions independently

What we're looking for:

• Degree in a technical, science, engineering, or mathematical discipline
• C# .NET and WPF experience with clear understanding of object oriented design and principles
• Experience analysing business requirements and designing and driving change required to deliver these requirements to the business
• Analytical/problem solving mind-set

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise and clear way
• Experience in a financial institution and exposure to Investment Banking with an understanding of derivative products and financial market risk, especially in fixed income
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task
• Motivated and able to manage their own workload and deadline expectations
