The Role Responsibilities
Risk Training, Leadership Development and Talent Management
  • Learning Strategy - Develop and maintain a learning strategy and roadmap for the Risk Function, in alignment to the Risk People Strategy, to consider
    • Fundamental to advanced level technical training
    • Interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Equipping employees for current and future perspective roles (e.g. cyber, climate risk, crypto and digital assets, sustainability and ESG)
    • Ensures training programmes are up to date and are fit for purpose and communicated to the relevant Risk Learning councils to facilitate required participation.
  • Credit Training - Working closely with CPBB and CCIB Credit Policy Teams, coordinate and manage the continual offering of the required risk certifications and other training programmes.
    • Maintain the CPBB Credit Risk Certification Governance Standards and the CCC Governance Manual
    • Ensure that controls and monitoring specified within such standards are in place and effective.
  • CCRO Bootcamp - Work with People Capability and representatives from the RLC to develop refreshed programme, with continued enhancement of the already strong brand of the CCRO Bootcamp, to consider
    • Developing Global Risk Citizens of the future
    • Coverage of all financial and non-financial risk types
    • Regulatory reviews and engagements
    • Stretching content with stimulating facilitation
    • Developing Communities of Practise and network of future CCROs
    • Ability to modularise training content to make available for all risk employees (where relevant)
  • Leadership of Learning Agenda
    • Take a leading role on the Risk Learning Council to ensure prioritisation and focus in accordance with the prevailing strategy and business needs.
    • Educate Risk employees across all levels in learning, development and talent management practices, including career planning, performance management, coaching, and development. Mentor junior Risk employees, encouraging them to continuously build mastery of craftsmanship by identifying and providing growth and learning opportunities.
    • Encourage and inspire Risk employees to acquire and grow the skills and capabilities needed for efficient and effective adoption of agile principles and practices, including the promotion of a 'test and learn' approach to solving problems and breaking down silos to encourage Risk to operate as a global team.
    • Promote a learning, teaching, and coaching, culture within Risk, by driving, encouraging and expanding the Communities of Practice for Risk learning.
    • Take the lead in coordination of communication of learning opportunities to the Risk function
    • Be central point of contact for Risk COO and Risk Productivity team to support delivery of People Risk Strategy and Agenda
  • Measuring Success
    • Monitor and track progress of deliverables including key initiatives and projects in Risk Learning that support the achievement of the strategic agenda.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ years' experience in the financial industry across multiple markets, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in business management, learning design, planning and project management or similar experience.
  • Well developed, flexible interpersonal skills appropriate at all levels of engagement within the Bank's multicultural environment.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple deliverables with demonstrable organizational, project management and time management skills. Effective collaborative skills that contribute to positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Personal authority, with a commitment to integrity and ethics.
  • A highly inquisitive approach to practices, procedures and specific transactions with a drive to find and, as necessary, demand explanations and deliver appropriate solution management and enhancement. Independence, robustness and resilience.
  • Strong analytical and dispute management skills, ability to make independent decisions with a strong sense of empowerment and leadership skills to command the respect of a cross-functional set of professionals at senior level (internal and external) working in open-ended situations.
  • Banking training:
  • Role specific training which are mandatory and developmental
  • Retail Risk Credit Curriculum, Corporate Credit Curriculum and Private Banking Credit Curriculum (or equivalent)
  • Enterprise Risk Management Framework & Risk Governance
  • Effective Workplace Writing
  • Other training as deemed mandatory by the Bank and updated on a periodic basis.
