The APAC Employee Relations and HR Policy Head will lead a team of Human Resources professionals in the APAC region, who provide management and investigation of complex employment-related concerns and strategic design and delivery of HR policies. The role will join the Global ER & HR Policy Senior Leadership team and includes the following major areas of responsibility:
Employee Relations
- Management & Investigation of Employment-Related Concerns
- Responsible for the investigation and resolution of complex employment-related concerns in APAC, including concerns raised through Citi's Employee Hotline or other escalation channels
- Provide regional tracking of employment-related escalations, as well as stakeholder, senior management, and Board reporting, including trend data and thematic analyses used to drive enhancements to Citi's culture and work environment
- Implement globally consistent investigation standards and protocols
- Partners with Employment Law/Legal, Citi's Ethics Office, Citi Security & Investigative Services, and Independent Compliance Risk Management in the resolution of employment-related concerns that cross escalation channels
- Drive the appropriate link between conduct and performance/compensation, ensuring that substantiated matters are handled in accordance with Citi's Global Disciplinary Review Policy, and applicable local procedures, as well as Citi's Accountability Framework
- Participate in a range of initiatives, audits and regulatory exams involving investigations and escalation of concerns which includes direct engagement with regulators
- Work with the Employment Law and other members of Citi's Legal team in the investigation of and response to agency charges and litigation
HR Policy
- Responsible for the governance of APAC HR policies (including employee handbooks) working in conjunction with stakeholders across HR
- Drive harmonization of global HR policies in APAC
- Provide strategic vision in the development of HR policies to enhance culture, diversity, engagement, and retention of talent
- Guide the interpretation and application of HR policy
- Incorporate data and analytics to revise existing HR policies and to develop new HR Policies
Other
- Work closely with the Global Employee Relations & HR Policy team, APAC SHRO, HRPS, HR Risk and Control, Legal, Audit, and other members of senior management in the delivery of Employee Relations and HR policy
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 15+ plus years in Human Resources or related area (such as Employment Law), including experience in senior level roles
- Significant experience in Employee Relations, including knowledge of legal environment, employee discipline, and conflict resolution
- Significant experience in conducting and management of investigations
- Demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of HR policies
- Ability to design and deliver consistent metrics and reporting
- Technical knowledge of HR systems
- Strong writing skills
- Prior global or multi-jurisdiction work experience
- Strong leadership skills, including judgment, influencing, diversity and collaboration
- Strong operational, controls, risk management, and execution mindset
- Strong communication skills; confident in challenging and being challenged
- The ability to work well under tight time constraints
- Strong attention to detail
