Job Purpose

Our team supports the technology needs of T&M, while we are part of T&O. We are looking for a Technical Lead/ Architect to help build solutions to support business growth and with a keen focus on innovation. The role will have regional oversight & delivery responsibilities in meeting the technology & digital needs of T&M Trading regionally

We are looking for someone who truly wants to redefine the banking industry especially in Investment Banking or Treasury & Markets. You should be well-versed in how to tap new & be innovative as we continue to build on a strong T&M franchise. The roadmap includes but is not limited to PaaS, Cloud adoption, microservices, in tapping data and analytics to drive business growth.
Will be a member of the regional Leadership team and will be responsible for hiring / building / leading top talent application development teams, defining the delivery operating model for the portfolio with tech colleagues and business on a regional basis.

Senior Technical Lead/ Architect will partner our Treasury & Markets (T&M) technology and business stakeholders in driving our digital strategy â€" namely, to:

• Digitalise channels for customer fulfillment of FX and other T&M products
• Connect T&M products & services to ecosystems through APIs
• Provide the FX trading desk with real-time, low latency position and risk monitoring
• Drive business decisions through data-driven insights
• Enable Microservice Architectures, Agile, DevSecOps, Cloud, and APIs

Key Accountabilities

• Architecture & Strategy : Experience in application architecture relating to new emerging technologies and driving engineering practices based on these guidelines. Especially in the space of trading products. Able to partner closely with Business in jointly building a business, tech, digital strategy, and roadmap. Evaluate and implement technologies fit for modern, low-latency, scalable, distributed architectures
• Generate new ideas and business streams with T&M to extend the reach and enhance reputation across Asia
• Conceptualize and develop analytics models with tangible outcomes for market and customer insights, growth opportunities, and trading
• In-house Capability: Strong engineering skillsets are required as a fair amount of delivery will be undertaken in-house via the adoption of standards and common frameworks and services. Provide leadership in re-defining our development team processes, as well as recommending technologies fit for modern, scalable architectures to deliver business outcomes and customer value
• Operating Model: Build the operating model for delivery, i.e. metrics, processes/methods/tools, capabilities right-sourced, etc taking into account teams across the location
• People Leadership: Able to lead delivery teams guiding them on architectural and engineering principles

Responsibilities

• Provide management and leadership support to in-house teams and vendor staff. Directs the team’s strategic direction, development, and future growth related to architecture.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of technology application services to the business for the following major areas â€" Treasury & Markets, sales & distributions
• Provide leadership to sub-department heads in a way that supports the company’s culture, mission, and PRIDE values.
• Conducts research and case studies on leading-edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
• Lead and influence development teams for efficient technical builds, be an agent of change to introduce innovative technologies within team/organization
• Acquire knowledge and understanding of DBS technology strategy as well as T&M digitization program and lead the team to model best practices.
• Embraced and strengthened the start-up ecosystem, drive innovation in the technical area of expertise
• Actively collaborate and spearhead initiatives with the Cloud Engineering Platform and EASRE (Enterprise Architecture and System Reliability Engineering)
• Continuously improve and evolve comprehensive DevOps practices including Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment, Release Automation, Blue & Green/ Canary deployments, appropriate application telemetry, and observability
• Be a consumer and contributor to enterprise architecture collateral. The patterns and guidance developed should be reusable in a broader enterprise architecture context. Deliver solutions for large and complex technical projects
• Design and articulate technical solutions to business stakeholders, while considering all functional as well as non-functional requirements (e.g. performance, availability, consistency, scalability, security). Transform requirements into architecture and blueprint for the solution being created.
• Understand the system processes and data flows of FX trading and other T&M trading products; provide a clear picture of pricing and booking flows across trading, sales, and digital channels. Become the subject matter expert in designing low latency eFX trading microservices applications
• Understand the regulatory environment in which the Bank and T&M operates (e.g. MAS TRM, MiFID II, personal data protection, IT security)
• Understand the emerging markets in payments and micropayments, and FX’s role in cross-border payments
• Communicate effectively and succinctly with business users, technical teams, application vendors, and business analysts
• Communicate, manage and mitigate system issues and risks
• Explore new technologies and drive innovation through experimentation
• Contribute both internally and external IT communityâ€

Requirements

• At least 12-15 years experience in leading diverse Tech teams and managing applications used by the business.
• Experience in design Cloud-native, Event-based, and Microservice Architecture; working experience in a cloud-native work environment, spring cloud data, Spring Security, oAuth, service monitoring on the cloud, PaaS environment such as Kubernetes.
• Deep End-to-End Enterprise Architecture understanding, including Enterprise Java Stack (JEE), Front-End technologies, streaming technology or framework such as Kafka, Databases (SQL & No SQL), and Data Warehouses. Able to select suitable technology for a given situation, code quality Api/tool, logging/tracing, circuit breakers.
• Experience with event-based and microservice solutions developed in large cloud computing infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud, and/or Google Cloud
• Full-stack development background especially in HTML/CSS/Javascript, React/Angular frameworks, Java/J2EE, C/C++, JBoss, MySQL, MariaDB
• Familiarity with modern languages and NoSQL databases such as NodeJS, Golang, Python, Redis, MongoDB
• Hands-on working knowledge on DevOps tools for Source Control (Git, Bitbucket), Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Maven), Continuous Delivery (CA Release Automation)
• Understand API architectures; hands-on experience with designing and deploying APIs through API gateways and portals, including API documentation using standards such as OpenAPI and RAML
• Proven experience working with T&M systems, especially in the investment banking space
• Working knowledge of the FX landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Proven experience working with and creating business strategy, process, and Quality guidelines
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills

• Experience working in distributed Agile team setup. Sound knowledge of end-to-end software development lifecycle, with experience in managing or leading development engagements in distributed environment
