Risk and Performance Management Department

The Risk and Performance Management Department is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of GIC's market, credit and operational risk profiles.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and technically competent individual who has an interest in risk management, systems and methodologies. You will be a member of the Risk Infrastructure team to provide risk management and measurement support to the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design and implementation of risk and performance measurement systems, tools and processes
  • Perform user acceptance testing on system enhancements and follow up with the relevant parties, including technology teams and vendors, to resolve the problems
  • Perform regular review of system outputs and exception logs, as part of BAU operations, to ensure good quality of analytics produced
  • Engage internal and external data providers to resolve data quality and coverage issues
  • Evaluate the impact of upstream data changes or new business initiatives (e.g., trading of new products) on existing systems and processes
  • Support ad hoc requests from end users (e.g., risk managers, senior management) involving the generation and/or clarification of analytics from the risk and performance systems

Requirements
  • A good Degree in Banking & Finance, Engineering or related fields of study
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the finance industry
  • Basic understanding of financial instruments (including derivatives), market data and risk analytics
  • Experience in working with performance, risk or valuation systems, either in the form of project implementation, operation or reporting, will be useful
  • Strong technical skills such as Microsoft Office suite, SQL or other programming languages
  • Strong analytical skills and process oriented
  • Able to work independently under pressure
  • Good team player who possesses drive and initiative to be able to work with minimal supervision
