About SC Ventures
SC Ventures ("SCV") was established in 2018 with the purpose of "Rewiring the DNA in Banking" by bringing three distinct areas together:
• The eXellerator Lab, enabling innovation at large in the Bank by supporting intrapreneurs and their ideas, collaborating with fintech's through the SCV Fintech Bridge and engaging with clients and co-creation ideas
• The Investment Fund ("Fund"), tasked to acquire minority stakes in fintech companies ("fintechs") whose technology has been successfully validated in the Group
Venture building , with the objective of exploring new business models ("ventures"), in the way it engages existing new customers and markets.
There are c.65 team members (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group's support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nairobi, London and San Francisco
Key Responsibilities
• Identify right partners to engage for co-creation/joint venturing/innovation exercises, form hypothesis, create pipeline of institutions/partners through identification via bank and 'non-bank' channels - i.e., corporate venture capitalist, Venture capitalist, Innovation Arms, Fintechs & Startups
• Raise awareness on SCV Innovation capabilities, co-creation, venture building and portfolio of investments within SCB including client coverage groups, regional leadership/ EXCO and external ecosystem
• Originate, develop, negotiate and incubate joint venture ideas along with institutional organizations/strategic partners , including bringing ideas through the venture building framework by developing investment pitch, business model/financial plan, customer validation etc...
• Facilitate the commercialization & strategic partnerships of portfolio of ventures / investments to corporates
• Ownership of sales pipeline & Objectives and Key results ('OKRs') via internal tools
• Ownership of deal origination with clients/institutions via external channels & SC relationship teams
• Identify opportunity areas/market gaps for collaboration through problem statement identification/HCD workshops etc
• Conduct Thematic based / industry scalable market research to identify potential areas of disruption and joint venture creation
• Drive and own commercial negotiations for MOU's/Joint Development agreements, Term sheets etc... along with functional partners (e.g., corporate development, legal etc...)
Competencies
• Experience with corporate client coverage, engagement, and strategic partnerships
• Relationships / access to corporate client ecosystem & corporate venture capital units
• Understanding of banking products and awareness of new business models related to banking
• Network beyond just SCB clients is considered a plus e.g., CVC, Fintech's
• Understanding of strategic partnership negotiations (e.g., MOU, Term sheets, etc)
• Quantitative knowledge - ability to build and defend financial plans (for investments etc.)
• Disciplined execution - ability to follow-through on agreed actions in timeline manner
• Excellent communication, presentation, time-management, research and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of HCD, Venture Building and Lean-start-up methodologies is an advantage

Qualifications
Subject matter knowledge and experience
• 7+ years in institutional coverage, corporate partnerships/strategic partnership, management consulting / origination role
• Experience in a Corporate Venture Capital / Corporate development is a plus
• Wide breadth of understanding of Banking products
• Connected to start-up / VC / CVC landscape is a plus
• Experience in technology / Financial institutions & large global organization
Skills and characteristics
• Excellent presentation, problem solving, analytical/quantitative and communication skills
• Strong story lining, client facing and strategic partnership/thinking skills
• Proven success in value development via strategic partnership/joint venturing
