Macro Analyst

Your primary involvement in the Group's investment process will be to provide research support to the Investment Team. You will work with the Head of Investments and Portfolio Managers to perform macroeconomic research and analysis for weekly macro meetings and monthly Asset Allocation meetings with the Chairman and CIO.

Job Description:
  • Monitor major market data and events relevant to the key global economies (e.g. inflation, interest rates, supply chain, business activities across US, Europe, China, Japan and Singapore)
  • Prepare and update meeting materials for Asset Allocation meetings including research on relevant topics and contributing to the meeting discussion
  • Collate, design and maintain Macro indicators and signposting levels (e.g. China, US Indicators)
  • Risk watch by monitoring news flow on economic and geopolitical developments especially in relation to investments held.
  • Conduct Macro studies on specific topics such as Singapore Residential Market and Central Bank studies etc.
  • Prepare market commentary and technical analysis for weekly investment meetings on a rotation basis with the Investment Analyst team
  • Contribute insights relating to macroeconomic outlook or sector specific views via the team's idea generation meetings
  • Assist in stock idea generation through thematic fund holdings scans, ETF holdings scans, quantitative scans, identifying of top analysts for stock ideas, sourcing of valuation models
  • Minutes taking for all macro related meetings

Job Requirements:
  • Minimally a relevant Economics related Degree or its equivalent
  • Able to do basic spreadsheet modelling (Econometrics would be an advantage)
  • Able to perform macroeconomic analysis and has a keen interest in capital markets
  • Adaptable and open-minded about different investment strategies and instruments
  • Intellectually curious and have an aptitude to learn about new technologies and data analytics
  • Strong work ethics, value shared culture of openness and accountability, rigor and attention to details
  • Basic knowledge of technical analysis and chart reading
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
