About this role

Overview of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Singapore Controller, this individual will be responsible for all corporate accounting, financial and regulatory reporting activities in Singapore, as well as providing local representation for Finance operations hub in India and Singapore. This will involve monthly analytics to aid consolidated group reporting as well as the production of in-country regulatory returns, board reports and annual statutory accounts. Developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be key to the role.

Primary areas of responsibility include:
  • Add-value analytics and commentary on legal entity results, communicating these effectively to internal stakeholders and company auditors.
  • Review local GAAP reporting packages produced by Finance operations hub in India, ensuring that local GAAP adjustments are appropriate and documented and coordinating their review and submission.
  • Preparation of statutory and regulatory returns and ensuring that all finance operations, such as revenue bookings, payments and record keeping, are compliant with local regulations.
  • Assist Tax teams in India, Hong Kong and Edinburg with corporate and indirect tax filings and tax queries.
  • Be the key point of contact for Singapore Controllers team, acting as a conduit between local stakeholders and centralized support teams.
  • Involvement in ad hoc project work.


Experience and Skills

The individual will be highly organized, results orientated and have proven project management capabilities. The successful candidate should have the executive presence to effectively represent their function with senior management throughout BlackRock with a profile as follows:
  • CA / CPA license or equivalent with a strong academic record;
  • 5+ years post-qualified experience, preferably with financial services, corporate controllership and/or audit background;
  • English language skills essential;
  • Singapore MAS SFA regulatory filing experience preferred;
  • Strong awareness of IFRS (Singapore), US GAAP and local tax rules;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment;
  • Able to work collaboratively with others across various teams and cultures;
  • Sound judgment, decision making and project management skills.
