Work with and contribute to a world class financial reporting team based out of Macquarie Group's Headquarters in Sydney, Australia.

Joining our Group Financial Reporting team in Sydney as an Executive, supporting the Head of Group Financial Reporting, your voice, passion, and vision will empower and steer this crucial team towards meeting their objectives.

It's an exciting time at Macquarie Group as we recently announced a 56% increase in net profit across our well diversified business groups. Supporting this record growth, we are looking at transforming and uplifting our capabilities and leadership across our Financial Management Group. We are investing heavily in data, automation, technology solutions and our people to better the way we work and how we operate. As a result of this, we are looking to complement our existing Group Financial Reporting team with diverse talent to join us on this journey.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to develop breadth and depth of expertise, demonstrate measurable value and deliver key financial reports, several of which form part of the group's reporting to its external stakeholders that include shareholders and other providers of capital. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the production of key group external financial reporting deliverables that include group, bank and non-bank interim and annual financial statements, related regulatory reports and other reports that rely on related financial information.

You will also be responsible for the production of several deliverables for the consideration of internal governance committees and participating in several financial reporting-related projects that contribute to the continued success of this function. In addition, you will assist in preparation of board audit committee documents and board papers.

Your knowledge of financial reporting and controls will be leveraged to regularly engage and consult with the data team, business units, risk management and the senior leadership team. You will also be interested in improving operational processes, providing financial reporting advice, interpreting regulatory reporting requirements within a business context and enjoy communicating with a variety of stakeholders.

Your technical skills and qualifications will include:
  • a tertiary degree in Business/Commerce and hold or working towards a CA
  • previous experience and knowledge of Financial Statements and Accounting requirements and standards (Australian Accounting Standards / International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • good relationship building skills and stakeholder management skills will also be paramount to your success in this role.

You will also be involved in implementation of strategic projects including:
  • opportunities for automation
  • process improvement opportunities
  • creating efficiencies on a regular basis.

If you have a collaborative approach, are curious with the ability to learn and adapt quickly whilst adhering to change, then apply today. The role is based in Sydney, Australia and we will consider candidates with work rights who are open to relocation.
