Job Description

This role supports with specific expert knowledge the definition, design, development, maintenance and improvement of specific bank-wide risk frameworks. Framework design and development scope includes principles, standards and policies and approaches to enabling their implementation across DB Group (including training where appropriate), ensuring their integration with DB Group's overall risk management framework.
Role holders ensure that the risk framework(s) adhere appropriately to relevant legal, regulatory and DB policy requirements. Role holders agree relevant regulatory changes to the framework with relevant Compliance, Methodology and Risk Management teams, ensuring control in line with over-arching standards.

Details of the Division and Team:

The Benchmark and Index Control Group ("BICG") is an independent function within Non-Financial Risk (NFR) responsible for benchmark-related controls across DB. BICG maintains an effective risk management framework comprising standards and policies, control execution and monitoring as well as analysis and reporting.

The purpose of the Benchmark Index Control Group (BICG) is to ensure that the bank's Benchmark related activities (Administration, Usage, Contribution) are managed in line with the group wide risk appetite and the Benchmark Policy.

The Benchmark Risk manager within NFRM is to work with key stakeholders in the divisions covered and manage NFR according to the 3 Lines of Defense model and the NFR mandate. Specifically, they perform independent oversight of the implementation of the Benchmark Framework within the Business Divisions covered and independently assess material risks and/or key controls (as required), providing challenge, approval or veto as appropriate.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Risk Managers with the experience, seniority and tools to assess benchmark risks and intervene where they lie outside the bank's risk appetite.
  • Implementation of the benchmark control framework that helps in mitigating benchmark risks
  • Perform an independent review of FO submission methodologies to ensure that they are credible, robust and in line with the regulations/requirements from the benchmark administrators
  • Contribute actively in defining and implementing the requirements with respect to new regulations around benchmarks, specifically on benchmark reforms
  • Monitor changes in regulation, legislation and auditing standards that may impact the processes and responsibilities around benchmark submissions
  • Close coordination with all Second Line Risk Type Controllers to facilitate the production of a holistic view of NFR

Your skills and experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Financial Institution or Investment Bank, with 2-3 years people management experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in performing a control function position at a global financial institution with a strong understanding of framework design, and implementation.
  • Broad understanding and application of operational risk management including standards and policies, control execution and monitoring as well as analysis and reporting.
  • Proven experience of excellent stakeholder management across business and front office functions, and building constructive partnerships with diverse stakeholders
  • Good communication and presentation skills, confident individual who articulates well

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirement applies
