BlackRock's ETFs and Index Investments Team (EII) manages over $3.2 trillion across global developed markets, emerging markets, commodities and real estate investment trusts as Exchange Traded Funds. We lead ETF industry with innovation and expertise for more than two decades and offer all investors, transparent and cost-efficient access to a broad range of asset classes and markets. In APAC, we currently offer ETFs in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, for the local investor base as well as global investors, who want to trade in Asian time-zone.

Role Aim/Purpose:

The APAC EII Products and Markets Team works to deliver, manage and monitor iShares investment vehicles, relevant to our clients. The team is responsible for helping to drive the commercialization, thought leadership and product innovation for iShares in APAC.

Professionals within the EII Product Consulting and Investment Strategy team work to deliver actionable market insights across asset classes to implement using iShares ETFs. Working closely with distribution, product strategy, global markets, product range management and marketing, the team helps clients navigate the iShares range, provide them with bespoke product analysis and engage in general ETF education in the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibility in handling investment strategy and product consulting functions to support the APAC ETF business.
  • Understands ETFs and unlisted fund solutions, including portfolio construction and client use cases, for clients across the region with the understanding of local, US and UCITS funds.
  • Support the APAC sales team with technical aspects of the product, provide transaction cost analysis to ensure optimal product selection by our clients and be able to position whole portfolio construction using ETF's
  • Support APAC sales in roadshows and marketing presentations, as and investment and product specialist, specifically for SEA clients.
  • Develop product and client use cases on our local iShares range, while building narratives around each, rooted in our best investment thinking around equity indexing
  • Develop/maintain marketing materials for our ETFs
  • Educate and influence the key decision makers within client segments and broker/dealer community in order to expand the distribution channels and reach new pools of money

The position is based in Singapore.

Strong analytical capabilities, the ability to work independently or collaboratively, depending on the circumstances, being comfortable with tight deadlines and multi-tasking are important attributes of the position. This role provides an opportunity to be a key player in a strategic and dynamic environment with exposure to a wide variety of new product ideas and business processes, leveraging on BlackRock's local and global resources.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge Required:
  • University Degree
  • 5 years + relevant experience, with knowledge of fixed income and equity markets and ETFs and/or index funds strongly preferred. Capital markets or investment banking background a plus.
  • Native English required, other regional languages a plus (Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Experience in global equity/ fixed income markets
  • Experience with Aladdin tools and applications, as well as knowledge of Aladdin data sources a plus.
  • Experience working in a global firm, preferably in a role which required establishing strong working relationships across different time zones and cultures.
  • Effective team player, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong emphasis on time management and the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data, summarize issues and think outside the box.
  • Ability to frame and communicate complex issues simply and concisely to interact with various levels of management.
  • Passion for markets and investment opportunities, with the ability to formulate and communicate tactical and longer terms investment views
