Details of the Division and Team:

The Securities Market and Technology Advocacy team strives to raise awareness and contribute to key regulatory and market changes that can impact our products, key client segments and markets. We stand at the forefront of change and work in the interaction of regulations, technology and capital markets as pathfinders into futures of the industry. Through timely identification, rigorous assessment and advocacy, we integrate changes and contribute to forward-looking and sound business; add value to platinum client relationships with timely breaking news and context to observed changes. Internally, the team contributes via scenario analysis, market intelligence and to new product development. The Asia Pacific team is recruiting an Assistant Vice President (AVP).

The successful candidate would be bilingual (Mandarin, English), intensely curious about the capital market and asset management industry, technology including AI, data and blockchain, and interested to improve status quo. The candidate would need to think holistically with details, have a strong aptitude to learn, research, analyse and write; is/can be comfortable with formal situations and formal communication protocols, demonstrated abilities to address unstructured information and complex situations. The role has strong elements of hands-on experimentation in technology for evidence-based advocacy. It has a product development core as the candidate would also translate implications of change into actionable, future-proof ideas and initiatives for DB and/or in co-creation with select clients.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Research, analysis and communication of select key market practice, regulatory changes and process flow changes related to securities services; including cross-border market access and repatriation, fund management, FX, market and settlement infrastructure, custody, settlement, clearing, asset servicing, ESG and technology.
  • Advise stakeholders of change and implications. Facilitate clear external & internal multi-stakeholders communication and interaction.
  • Contribute white papers, articles and other Corporate Bank or Deutsche Bank publications. Originate views and thought leadership.
  • Represent DB in industry forum, present DB views, support client-centric activities, expand "advocacy-as-a-service" to clients.
  • Collaborate and support local market and cross-product teams. Support APAC head of advocacy.
  • Responsible for key market changes and/or markets.
  • Participate and contribute to technology experiments.

Your skills and experience:
  • 7 years in capital market, asset management and/or fintech industry.
  • 5-year experience in network management, product, public relations, compliance and/or legal experience.
  • Mandarin and English language to review regulatory and official documents.
  • Writing skills, either with already produced articles or ad-hoc writing.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to travel within APAC (~30%).

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirement applies
