Global Transaction Services (GTS) comprises of Cash & Trade, Securities Services and Fiduciary Services. In an increasingly borderless world marked by burgeoning trade flow, expertise in trade finance services is an invaluable asset. With cash the lifeblood of every company, so too, is a good understanding of how to manage these cashflows. Trade Finance, together with Cash Management, is the mainstay of GTS, and is extended to SME and corporate clients for their local and cross-border financial transaction needs.

Key Accountabilities
  • Grow trade assets and revenue for assigned portfolio of clients
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of volume forecasts, operational processes, utilization levels and business requirements for assigned portfolio of clients
  • Develop and deepen relationships with assigned portfolio of clients through cross-selling opportunity
  • Pro-actively manage client's expectation, seek feedback on service quality and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance client experience
  • Identify opportunity for digitalization and automation for efficiency and risk mitigation
  • Pro-actively manage risks & controls
Responsibilities
  • Focus of the role is to support Sales Manager in the sales process for trade products, service a portfolio of clients and manage trade utilization of assigned portfolio of clients
  • Grow trade assets and revenue covering Documentary Trade, Commodity & Structured Trade, Open Account Trade (Accounts Receivable Purchase and Supply Chain Finance)
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand client needs and requirements in order to provide relevant support
  • Keep abreast of competitive environment and maintain frequent liaison with internal stakeholders to ensure the Bank is competitively placed
  • Actively engage clients to solicit support for DBS in Market Surveys to evidence improvement in service quality, effectiveness, and growth in market shares
  • Ensure mandates won are implemented and expected revenues are realised within specified timeframe
  • Manage and ensure smooth onboarding of new clients/debtors/spokes
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders in ensuring seamless transaction execution
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies/guidelines/procedures related to trade products and practices
  • Identify opportunity for digitalization by converting client from manual to digital platforms
  • Regularly review existing processes for opportunity to automate
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in corporate banking
  • University level Bachelors Degree (preferably having majored in either Business Management/Economics/Finance)
  • Must have experiences in Documentary Trade including Commodity and Structured Trade Finance
  • Must have experiences in handling Open Account Trade such as ARP & SCF
  • Experiences in Trade Operations or Trade Product Management is highly preferred
  • Strong trade product knowledge
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to speak and read/understand a 2nd language is highly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good organization skill and task orientated. Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task, work independently with minimum supervision
  • Attention to details
  • Strong technical skills in trade product, in-depth knowledge in Commodity and Structured Trade Finance, ARP & SCF
  • In-depth knowledge of market practices, industry/regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding on ICC publications such as URC, UCP, ISP, URR, URDG
  • Good understanding of banking operations, processes, system capabilities and workflows.
