Digital Program Analyst/Associate - Data Analysis

The Information Technology Department (ITD) is looking for an analyst or associate who will be responsible for gathering and interpreting data requirements using techniques from a range of disciplines, including business analysis, business intelligence, computer programming, mathematics, and statistics. The data analyst will draw conclusions from data to describe, predict, and support business needs. The role includes plenty of time spent with data but entails communicating with technical teams as well as business counterparties. This role is onsite in Beijing, China.

Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Closely work with business stakeholders, understand business data process, gather and streamline data requirements and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Perform data analysis, research and retain data knowledge from the business system, translate data requirements to technical specification; collaborate with the project manager and implementation team to support the design and delivery of data solutions (e.g., business intelligence solutions, self-service solutions, etc.) that meet business requirements.
  • Lead data solutions testing and assist troubleshooting, guide users through new data products/services, and facilitate user training and focus group discussions.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and reporting processes to support data solution operations.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities, proactively identify new opportunities and potential gaps to optimize solutions. .
  • Support data culture awareness training.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business analysis, data analysis, computer science, information management, financial engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years as a data analyst and/or business analyst or relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, financial analysis, statistics and research methods.
  • Strong technical capability in MS SQL and familiar with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Python, etc.).
  • Working knowledge in lending products, investment products, portfolio management and cooperate reporting is an advantage.
  • A team player with the ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with business partners and effectively communicate with both business and technology data stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated performer with the ability to deal with ambiguity, adaptive to evolving business models and drive the result with technical skills and business acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for various audiences at different levels across the organization. Demonstrated technical documentation skills are a must.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn), experience in designing machine learning and AI applications to effectively optimize business processes and support better decision making would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing deliverables in agile environments would be an advantage.
