ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be working directly with our Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and portfolio managers, supporting on coverage and execution responsibilities, and will be actively involved in the firm's research and strategy processes and sessions.

The Junior Credit Analyst role will involve performing fundamental credit research incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) analysis, providing trade recommendations that are consistent with Artesian's research and investment process. In addition to research duties, you will work closely with and provide full trade support cover for all senior members within the firm.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Credit Research & ESG/Impact Analysis:
  • Perform fundamental credit research and ESG and impact analysis on fixed income securities, covering a broad list of corporates, sovereigns and agencies;
  • Contribute to investment recommendations after personal engagement with the research targets;
  • Update and maintain the firm's research database on a timely basis with updates on their research outcomes; and
  • Participate in internal routine calls to communicate findings and trade recommendations to CIO and portfolio managers.

Middle Office & Operations/Administration:
    • Work closely with portfolio managers and operations/settlements team (Melbourne and London) daily to ensure all trade activity is booked in a timely manner, ready for good settlement and reporting;
    • Monitoring of daily trading exception reports, investigating and resolving trade queries with trading counterparties and settlements team; and
    • Assist in P&L reporting and front to back office reconciliations with settlements team.

Close Collaborations with Colleagues Globally:
  • Work in an international team environment, knowledge sharing and providing constructive feedback to internal stakeholders, to enhance operational workflows and investment processes. There will be opportunity to travel to our centres in Australia, China, New York and London.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We don't expect our Junior Analyst to have all the skills needed for this role on day one and we want to help train our new employees to become some of the best globally.

A Bit About You:
  • You're a pro-active team player with a can-do attitude and the willingness to learn.
  • You have a strong interest in research with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • You have a high level of competency in financial modeling.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy/business/economics or any other quantitative discipline from a recognized university.


Experience:
  • Good understanding of fixed income and credit.
  • 1+ years in a relevant role (fixed income, corporate credit analysis, financial modeling) is a plus, but not compulsory.
  • Graduates (including those with less than 2 years of working experience) are encouraged to apply.
