Your team
The OTC Banking Specialist Principal provides support and guidance to the OTC team in delivering dynamic, proactive and timely operational support to Sales & Trading teams on the processing, settlement and confirmation of OTC Derivatives transactions within agreed Avaloq Asia Pte Limited (AAPL)'s and Client policies and procedures. The Asset classes include Equities, Interest Rates, Credit, Commodities and FX.

Your mission
  • Being the main point of contact for team members covering all queries.
  • Ensuring that all activities pertaining to OTC Equity and FX derivative products (Accumulators, Decumulators, Swaps, Dual Currency Investment, Structured Investment, FX related products) are processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all failed trades are duly accounted for with appropriate reasons.
  • Ensuring that all premiums are duly settled and all trade events e.g. knockouts, expiries, exercises, periodic fixings as well as accounting entries and swifts are released in a timely manner.
  • Prompt resolution covering any trade exceptions / discrepancies.
  • Ensuring that (a) all counter trade confirmations are promptly executed. Any outstanding confirmations are to be escalated per Escalation matrix and followed up for resolution and (b) all client trade confirmations are prepared and sent on a timely basis.
  • Reviewing of EOD checklists and ensuring that any outstanding trades are followed up accordingly.
  • Ensuring that all trades alleged by counterparty in DTCC and Markitwire are all affirmed on timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all outstanding break items in Securities and Nostro as well as Internal accounts are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining close working relationship with team members and cross function teams.
  • Ensuring that all operational delivery covering OTC activities are within SLAs, KRIs and / or KPIs.
  • Assisting Manager in ensuring proper documentation and update of Key Operating Procedure (KOP).
  • Assisting Manager in the control and review of daily BAU for process efficiency / improvement.
  • Actively involved in testing, adhoc project or initiatives assigned from time to time.
  • Escalating of any operational risks relating to OTC matters to Manager for mitigation / control solutions.
  • Ensuring that the bank's procedures and controls are complied with to prevent losses or risks due to errors, omission or non-compliance.
  • Keeping oneself abreast of market / regulatory changes.
  • Create and foster an environment of continuous improvement within own area, being in regular contact with the team members, knowing and solving their major problems. Ensure improvement of efficiency, productivity, quality and margins. Formalize suggestions of other team members, after having performed a complete risk assessment on them.
Qualifications

What you need
  • Tertiary education (Diploma / Degree in Banking and Finance / Accountancy preferred but not necessary).
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience.
  • Possess products knowledge of OTC derivatives within Private banking / Private wealth management
  • Experience in managing system outages and follow-up actions from an Operations perspective.
  • Relates well to people from all walks of life and is capable of creating a climate in which team members will want to do their best.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel would be advantageous.
  • Preferably with knowledge of Avaloq system.
