About the Role
We are looking for a curious, innovative, self-starter, and forward-thinking Payments Strategy Director to join our Global Strategy team. Working with a team of payments' leaders, you will be able to define and drive our strategy to enable the SWIFT community to expand its platform across customer segments, a unique opportunity to broaden your reach in terms of knowledge, network and building expertise around SWIFT's strategy and business.
Global Payments Strategy is responsible for developing scalable strategies for designing and distributing next generation solutions from inception to funding and then oversight as these go into general availability around the world. The consumer and small and medium enterprise payments strategy team focus on growth areas of cross-border low value transactions. At SWIFT you'll have the opportunity to work on challenging and relevant issues in financial services and technology. What to expect:
- Set a vision for the future by defining mid-long term strategic plans to inform internal/external parties about strategic products and markets development.
- Be abreast with trends in the payments' industry in APAC, by developing a deep knowledge of the different players in the payments' ecosystem including Banks, FinTechs, PSPs, Technology providers and other actors.
- Be a thought leader in the consumer & SME cross-border payments market in APAC, developing deep knowledge around segment-specific players and trends, including P2P services and digital remittances as well as B2B services targeting SMEs/marketplaces
- Define, develop and validate new product concepts and business solutions based upon customer needs, creating clear and compelling product value narratives for internal alignment and external engagement.
- Define detailed product definitions and associated business cases for new and renewed products, within the framework of the overall business strategy. Coordinate the approval for business cases, provide IT with customer/product requirements and act as an interface between Product development and Commercial divisions.
- Initiate, drive and control product launches to ensure timely delivery of agreed specifications. Manage all aspects of the marketing plan (product/pricing offer, promotion, training of commercial teams and customers and the development of user documentation).
- Manage a product portfolio through their lifecycle by defining yearly sales targets, continuously monitoring P&L and ensuring continually product improvements or renewals.
- Align product commercialization strategies, roadmaps and milestones with product managers and commercial/business development teams
- Drive cross-functional and cross-regional alignment on product readiness and roadmap prioritization, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, regulatory bodies and industry associations.
- 10+ years' professional experience including relevant experience in management consulting, strategy function within a corporate, and/or management role at a fintech
- Experience in Payments, FinTech, Financial Services, and/or Technology
- Expertise around the Payments/FinTech Consumer & SME markets in APAC
- Passionate for developing customer-centric strategies and products, be an outside-in thinker
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to write compelling and concise documents
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA in top business school or relevant post graduate degree highly valued
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
