Division Description
Group Risk Management (GRM) is an independent function responsible for ensuring that risk management practices at OCBC Bank are effective and comprehensive.
GRM builds and drives the Bank's businesses through an integrated risk management approach relying on strong risk analytics to support strategic business decision-making and to create a competitive edge for the Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle, in a proper and timely manner, risk alerts with respect to counterparty credit risk monitoring of treasury excesses and to ensure that they are in accordance with the Banks credit policies and procedures.
  • Conduct in-depth investigation with the respective stakeholders to ensure that all treasury excesses/risk alerts are duly addressed. Lead courageously, Escalate and assist, where necessary, in the closure of risk control alerts.
  • Provide feedback, information and data as well as final assessment of reporting an unauthorized trade event, Prepare and perform management reporting on a daily / monthly basis.
  • Support and work with Group Audit to perform objective, independent and reliable assessment of the effectiveness of a bank's risk control and management activities in a continuous cycle.
  • Undertake and lead project working group for application support and testing for Treasury Risk System on BAUs specifically for managing system implementation and data migration. Actively co-lead and work with GT, GT BSS, IT, BAU team and Risk System analyst to ensure that system runs at optimal performance level.
  • Actively drives internal risk process improvements, preventions, and resolution. Participate and contribute to new product/business and risk management projects/initiatives. Massive UAT/SIT support over a period and working on weekend is expected.
  • Adhere to capacity plans for the team, including flexible hours work schedules, processing turnaround times, departmental Activity Based Capacity planning


Qualifications
The ideal Candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • University Degree, CFA, FRM, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in trading room risk monitoring, surveillance, transactional monitoring
  • 3-4 years in bank risk system and platform application testing on system is a must.
  • Analytical and self-initiated to resolve issues, with demonstrated ability to understand and identify appropriate solutions and/or alternatives
  • Can work with huge amount of data and information using risk analytics tools. Able to identify and accelerate the pace of digitalisation and data base transformation within risk control functions.
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Qlikview, and other necessary applications.
  • Demonstrates success in working independently and within a team, with leadership potential apparent. Able to work well in a team.
  • Able to work under intense pressure as daily excess/exception management from worldwide, can be intensify.

Good to have but not essential
  • In-depth knowledge of treasury products (FX/MM, Bonds, Equities / Derivatives) and channels.
  • Prior experience in Financial Crime Investigation
  • Good knowledge in Bloomberg, Reuters and Markitwire
  • Additional language skills are advantageous for this post but not essential
