The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.
UOB Group Investment Banking provides the Bank's customers with a full range of investment banking products and services across the capital structure, including equity and debt capital markets, capital raising (equity and debt capital market placements), mergers & acquisitions, project, structured and asset finance structuring.
UOB has built and strengthened long-standing relationships with its customers via its continued commitment through economic cycle volatility. UOB Group Investment Banking forms a critical component in the Bank's product offering that enables the right mix of capital requirements to support these clients' growth.
The Project Finance team is an important segment within Group Investment Banking that structures and arranges mid-to-long term structured debt critical in funding of green or brownfield projects in various specialised industries within the Bank's home markets.

Job Responsibilities
  • Origination : Actively support Project Finance senior originators (VPs, Directors, Executive Director) in the origination of infrastructure & project finance debt transactions across Asia, including idea generation, prospect identification, financial modelling, preparation of pitch books and other marketing materials, as well as coordination with various internal teams
  • Evaluation of transaction information and scoping out opportunities to assess suitability for financing, drafting initial screening memos and running sensitivity and pricing scenarios under the supervision of senior team members
  • Assisting in the preparation of credit applications to seek approval for proposed financing commitments
  • Coordination of appointment of lender advisors, conducting detailed due diligence and research to support the risk analysis, assessment and determine acceptability of proposed risk mitigation
  • Core Competency : building and review of financial models and performance of cash flow sensitivities, and financial model oversight
  • Supporting seniors in transaction co-ordination, loan structuring, term sheet drafting and financing documentation review
  • Working with internal stakeholders, including treasury, relationship teams, sector teams as appropriate for all ancillary activities


Job Requirements
Project Finance transactions can be complex and require a multi-disciplinary approach. The incumbent should have the following prerequisites :
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree with between 4 to 6 years of relevant project or structured finance lending experience or projects advisory background
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling including knowledge of accounting (VBA, macro development, aptitude for disciplined and rigorous numerical analysis)
  • Strong risk / credit / common (business) sense acumen
  • Basic understanding of project finance structures, terms, and documentation
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior management and clients
  • Highly organized, motivated and strong prioritization capabilities
  • Strong commitment with an analytical and results-oriented approach and good work attitude
