About us:

The Cognitive Banking team defines, enables and implements best-in-class nudges for DBS customers, with the objective of creating personalised, relevant and meaningful experiences that also drive impactful outcomes for the bank.
We are focused on learning and understanding our customers' needs, behaviours, motivations and emotions through customer immersions, experimentation and data. The insights we derive from this process drive everything we do, from product strategy to design, implementation, go live, and driving results.

We work in collaborative, cross-functional squads to craft and build nudge experiences that will 'wow' our customers, and to create digital capabilities that enable our various markets to do the same at scale.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive impact and monetisation
    • Lead a team to use a data-driven approach to identify use cases or enhancements that can drive revenue impact for the bank
    • Monitor and track performance of use cases in order to improve or extend them
    • Develop a strong understanding and partnership with country / product teams to understand their pain points and priorities, and translate these into Cognitive Bank deliverables
  • Drive delivery
    • Lead, enable and assist country teams (e.g. Indonesia or India) from concept to design, through to build and implementation of Cognitive Bank
    • Closely follow the progress of country teams, solve or escalate problems, issues, dependencies and manage to an execution plan
    • Develop and manage deep relationships with country teams. Influence and evolve understanding across the organisation on our views on Cognitive Bank
  • Execution
    • Understand customers deeply and guide product and feature development to tailor for local market needs while maintaining the common vision. Identify areas that need investigation through customer immersions (e.g., discovery, testing) and drive this with research team
    • Work closely with product managers, design & research, data science, product delivery, technology and marketing to design, build, test and implement new features of Cognitive Bank. Push the boundaries of what has been done before, while being practical about cost, regulations, technology, and timing to go to market
  • Stakeholder engagement
    • Prepare and lead communication with senior management for the following:
      • Alignment of goals and priorities of Cognitive Bank
      • Sharing of results and delivery momentum across countries and apps
      • De-bottleneck challenges and issues if any
Requirements:
  • Experience with senior stakeholder management, and for pushing through initiatives in a challenging environment
  • Understands the digital product management cycle, particularly in the context of a banking app
  • Known for working well with a range of personalities, selfless, helpful, committed, reliable
  • Experience working in complex strategic initiatives across various geographies. Capable of handling multiple streams of work in different stages (e.g. definition / design of future build in parallel to delivery of current plan and requirements)
  • Ability to identify and pursue issues end to end until they are resolved
  • Understands banking products and balances between benefit to the bank and benefit to the customer
  • Customer focus: understands and applies human centred design; no strong opinion on "this is what customers want"
  • Analytical, fluent with data
  • Team player, works well with others, manages stakeholders effectively
  • Creative, intellectually curious, persistent and highly collaborative, with a passion
  • A plus would be a history of building something new through challenges (e.g., building a business, of your own or within a company / department)
