Role Responsibilities
We are hiring in the South Asia and Resources Portfolio ("SAR") of the Global Subsidiaries Group of Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking. The Global Subsidiaries Group looks at all inbound business in Singapore from a CCIB perspective and the SAR team focuses on banking coverage of a few businesses: Commodities Traders and Agribusiness ("CTA"), Metals and Mining, Oil andGas and South Asia Conglomerates. These businesses are core segments of the Bank and are expected to make a significant contribution in delivering the Bank's growth aspirations. SCB has been one of pioneers in these areas in the past, launching new products and solutions that were the first of its kind for the industry and we continue to lead the way in Asia for these businesses given our product capability and network.
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic team-mate to join our team in Singapore to manage, expand, and deepen our customer base of Resources and South Asia companies. As a senior member of the Team, you will manage a portfolio of diverse clients and be expected to deliver to them the whole array of the Bank's product suite of Transaction Banking ("TB"), Financial Markets ("FM") and Corporate Finance ("CF"). As such, the role involves working closely with key stakeholders (Credit, TB, FM, CF, Distribution, Portfolio Management, etc) to align with the Bank's business strategy and drive business growth. In addition to managing this business in Singapore as a Regional Account Manager you will (following our clients' footprint) also be working with banker's in countries in the Asia-Pacific Region to develop inbound business in the Region.
  • Responsible as the primary coverage and origination point for a portfolio of SAR subsidiaries clients in Singapore.
  • Responsible for working with the Global Account Managers (GAM), Risk and Product Partners in Ideation, origination, and structuring and distribution solutions and in delivering the SCB network to our CTA clients.
  • Responsible as Regional Account Manager for RAM accounts in the Region and working with FAM's and Onshore Product Teams to deliver the SCB network along with SAR specific solutions to our clients.
  • Work closely with the Head of CTA ASEAN to develop CTA Origination business across the ASA network and work closely with RM's and product teams on the ground to bring them up to speed on CTA Risk, CTA Structuring, and CTA Products.
  • End to end deal management - from identifying needs, structuring to term-sheet and credit approvals. Coordinate inputs and approvals from internal stakeholders on transactions.
  • To identify key client needs based on knowledge of the industry and the clients.
  • Accountable for revenues, profitability, and risk acceptance (AML, CDD and Credit) of the clients at a country level.
  • Responsible for executing country account plans of the clients they cover, establishing, and maintaining an understanding of the client and their needs and steering the client relationship along with the relevant GAM.
  • Acts as a champion of the Bank's brand, culture, and conduct standards.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree or post graduate qualified from a top-tier school.
  • 8+ years of professional experience with proven capability in Commodity Finance, Corporate and Institutional Banking or related business.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with proven ability to interpret, analyse and present information.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to manage multiple stakeholders across Industry, Product and Risk.
  • Deal experience and understanding of Product capabilities of the Bank to help identify business opportunities and associated risks.
  • Strong Credit and business strategy skills, with experience in managing large global clients or product teams.
  • Self-confident person with a high level of drive, dedication, pride and exceptional attention to detail and a team player.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance obligations.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Excellent analytical skills, with proven ability to interpret, analyse and present information.
