About the Role

The Position
As key Subject Matter Expert in APAC Benefits and Global Benefit Programs, the individual will be responsible for the management of regional benefit programs from plan design, implementation, administration, enhancement, communication to engagement. The role provides hands-on support as well as consultation to employees, Human Resources, and business leaders as required.

The position will direct report to the APAC Finance Director with matrix report to the Director of Global Benefits and the role will be expected to collaborate extensively with the Global Benefits team to deliver benefit programs to the region. The individual is expected to work closely with wide members across Finance and Human Resources teams to initiate and deploy regional strategies and will serve as an extended resource to the Global benefits team with regards to total rewards deliverables in the region.

This position can be based in our Hong Kong, Singapore, or Tokyo office

Responsibilities
Benefits Management
  • Responsible for the development and on-going management of benefit plans and programs in the region, from overall administration to annual renewals, including managing the local broker and vendor relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance benefits program design and experience. Frame, propose, communicate, and implement changes from current practices to desired states, and ensure regional benefits strategies aligned to the firm's benefits philosophy.
  • Work closely with Global Benefits, Human Resources teams and external consultants to develop approaches and actionable items towards benefits initiatives in the region across a range of healthcare, welfare, retirement, well-being, and ancillary programs.
  • Serve as escalation point in the region for benefit issues or queries related to eligibility, enrollment, claims escalation, plan coverage or general queries, as necessary.
  • Lead and support critical benefits and/or well-being projects to implement new strategies or drive enhancement to support the scale of growth in the region. These strategies should always consider not only regional impact but global impact where possible.
Benefits Communication and Engagement
  • Develop benefit communication strategies, initiatives, and materials to enhance employee experience and engagement towards benefit programs in the region.
  • Responsible for a high standard of advice, guidance, and support to Human Resource team and/or business leaders with regards to benefit programs
  • Develop strategic partnership to local and global Business Networks to roll out creative approach on benefit communication and engagement.
Process Improvement, Automation and Data Management
  • Identify opportunities to develop automated solutions or to eliminate manual process in existing benefits administration to drive efficiency and ensure sustainable operation model as the scale and population grow in the region.
  • Develop and expand knowledge inventory of APAC benefits including plan design philosophy, workflows, best practices, and FAQs to prevent the loss of information assets and drive consistent and aligned understanding of benefit programs across global teams.
  • Manage and develop key measurements to analyze the trends, utilization, cost, market competitiveness, employee satisfaction and experience of benefit programs in the region.
  • Remain up to date on legislative changes affecting benefits and implement or alter benefit programs and policies to comply with local regulations.
  • Occasionally, provide support to Global Benefits team to develop and expand knowledge in the firm's Benefits philosophy and strategy.
Other Qualifications
A successful candidate is likely to have the following qualifications:
  • 8 + years' experience in Employee Benefits management across the Asia Pacific region
  • Experience in Employee Wellness and Wellbeing programs advantageous
  • Superior organizational skills with a results orientation. The ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously is necessary; and
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate and integrate numerous viewpoints and mobilize/influence across all levels of the organization, including senior leaders;
  • Ability and willingness to make decisions and execute under pressure
  • Work remotely with stakeholders and team members across the APAC region
  • Must have a global perspective in addition to regional responsibilities
  • Proficiency in English language required; bilingual proficiency in additional Asian languages
