Job Description
Morgan McKinley is working in partnership with a Global Bank who is well known for their top tier Corporate and Investment Banking services. They are one of the well-recognized tier one houses.

The Singapore team is looking for a VP hire to join their Regional Trade Finance Operations team. You will be expected to provide your subject matter expertise across both "run the bank" and "change the bank" aspects, as well as drive consistency on key risk and controls and coordinate quality assurance across the APAC business.

Role and responsibilities
  • Manage Trade Services & Finance Operations (TFO) to meet customer service standards, internal and external cut off times; delivering key success metrics
  • Support and achieve excellent partnership with Sales, Product Management, Credit Risk, Legal and other business partners e.g. Account Management Service or IT to meet operational objectives set by Sales and Regional Ops Management
  • Establish clear regional operating processes, controls, operating manuals and Key Operating Procedures for existing/new products & services or new systems/systems upgrade
  • Work with Sales/Product Managers to structure & support cross-selling of products to customers; understand needs of customer by industry for effective support
  • Represent Operations in reviewing New Product Approval & Sales Proposal (Pre-mandate)
  • Work with Implementation & Services on front-to-back customer onboarding & delivery process
  • Manage and Supervise day to day ("Run The Bank") operations to meet annual objectives/targets; including maintaining a consistent incident escalation process
  • Manage the end-to-end when operationalizing the processes & controls including working with the Operation Hubs, Technology and/or Vendors as per target operating model
  • Maintain updates on global banking practices to ensure the bank is in position to make appropriate operating model adjustments/changes
  • Keeps abreast of new technologies that will involve trade operations eg. Distributed Ledger, RPA/Machine Learning & Data Analytics/Visualization technologies
  • Ownership of front-to-back workflow design involving design thinking/ human-centered design where appropriate as part of the "Change The Bank" (CTB) continuous improvements
  • Manage operational & reporting processes within internal/external audit guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain consistent operating standards across branches with agreed/zero loss provision
  • Guidance to branch operations on effective Business Continuity Procedure processes within Business Continuity Management guidelines.
  • Implement appropriate procedures and controls including proper accounting/reporting requirements in support of new product/sales initiatives Lead in Incident Management and timely
  • Escalations to Country & Regional Management Timely resolutions of incidents, audit remediation, reporting and regulatory-driven initiatives
  • Collaborate and engage AFC/Compliance to implement new or revised controls to conform to new/amended regulatory and internal policies
  • Support the Regional Ops Management to coordinate the one Branch Model & All aspects of Control in the Branch Operations
  • Take charge and steer engagements during internal and external regulatory audits.
Key requirements
  • Minimum 8 years experinence in Trade Services & Finance Operations or Trade Product Management; proficient in common trade products & UCP guidelines
  • Deep understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & Operational risk.
  • Prior transformation experience including knowledgeable of latest technology-driven operating models
  • Demonstrated the ability to drive initiatives, projects, new developments & generate ideations
  • Strong resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) & SharePoint
  • Ability to manage exceptions, solution oriented and has a positive frame of mind to look at the big picture
  • Working knowledge of operational toolkit such as Python, RPA (BluePrism, Automation Anywhere), visualization (Tableau, Spotfire) and/or Digital Process Automation (Alteryx)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, people management, presentation skills and a team player
  • Bachelor Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration
