Role Responsibilities
Job Summary
  • Strengthen overall Business risk management within Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB) to ensure the appropriate controls are in place and effective.
  • Perform quality assurance on Credit Initiation, Portfolio and Lending Operation to ensure that applications are approved in accordance with local regulatory and internal policy guidelines.
  • Ensure checks are conducted, and findings reported and closed in a timely manner.
  • Align quality assurance program to prevailing policies and processes.
  • Support development of a robust quality assurance process and maintain oversight to ensure effective implementation.
  • Support BRM Management Team in activities relating to risk forums / reporting / submissions.
  • AOB in relation to business risk management.
Strategy
  • Understanding the risk and compliance requirements of the role. Understand and comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Groups policies, procedures and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters.
Business
  • Perform quality assurance on Credit Initiation, Portfolio and Lending Operation to ensure that applications are approved in accordance with local regulatory and internal policy guidelines.
  • Support development of a robust quality assurance process and maintain oversight to ensure effective implementation.
Processes
  • Conduct quality assurance check on Retail Mortgage and BB Mortgage.
  • Ensure checks are conducted, and findings reported and closed in a timely manner.
  • Align quality assurance program to prevailing policies and processes.
People and Talent
  • Collaboration with stakeholders / colleagues within BRM and externally.
Risk Management
  • Socialise assurance findings with stakeholders and to understand the potential risk and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigating solutions proposed to prevent recurrence.
Governance
  • Present findings in a logical and easy to understand manner.
  • Monitor remediating action plans till closure.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
  • Singapore CPBB Teams - Consumer, Private, Business Banking, Wealth.
  • Credit Policy, Credit Initiation.
Other Responsibilities
  • AOB in relation to business risk management.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 2+ years of experience in performing quality assurance on Credit Initiation, Portfolio and Lending Operation to ensure that applications are approved in accordance with local regulatory and internal policy guidelines
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve the assurance findings
  • Management of stakeholders and collaboration with them
  • Graduate in Banking and Finance preferred.
