The Business Function Group Manager is a senior level position responsible for the overall administrative activities of a business. These tasks may include managing external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The Business Function Group Manager may coordinate and manage activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership, management and planning of the strategy, methodologies, procedures and governance of the business unit, with focus on fostering a culture of controls and accountability
  • Define and implement systems that are aligned with business strategy and goals. Responsible for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and significant contribution to future strategy of the group.
  • Evaluate the internal and external business environment to develop a long term network vision and strategy for the organization
  • Build credible and trusting relationships with network partners
  • Develop business cases to drive strategic partnerships that give Citi a competitive advantage
  • Evaluate and approve investment/expenditure requests and capital expenses
  • Engage in cost management activities
  • Manage the process to set up a continuous cycle of organization/operating model review to shape the local organization model.
  • Promote business ties with internal and external senior leaders/clients across key businesses, regions and support functions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Management experience in a financial services role
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, complex projects and processes
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven strategic planning and presentation skills
  • Consistently develop and maintain effective work relationships
  • Proven ability to conduct research/analysis and organize findings
  • Proven financial acumen, critical thinker with ability to provide an impartial, consultative and solutions oriented approach.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred


As a key member of the Asia Consumer Leadership Team, the incumbent will manage a Cards & Unsecured Lending Business. The Regional Cards & Unsecured Lending Head is responsible for the regional LF strategic direction, performance across highly regulated, complex and competitive markets, (mature, developing and emerging) with established local players, ensuring country level objectives are met and that a clear strategy is developed.

The incumbent oversees and leads all development, implementation and coordination of the LF strategy and business plans, including time to market, economic and financial implications, digital experience, partnerships, and competitive landscape which are integral to the strategy and how we serve our clients and their interests. The incumbent has full responsibility of the overall Cards & Unsecured Lending Business P&L across the region. The incumbent will also lead, build and coach senior managers and ensure appropriate resources and skill sets are made available to the Business

Key Responsibilities:

P&L and Balance Sheet Responsibility:
  • Manage the business P&L: Revenues, Expenses, Cost of Credit, Operating Efficiency, ROTCE, EBIT, etc, as well as all key business drivers.
  • Manage asset and liabilities growth to strengthen and meet all balance sheet targets with respect to self-funding ratio, LCR, and other metrics.
  • Drive sustainable business growth, maximizing revenue, margin and EBIT growth, offering differentiated customer value propositions and implementing an integrated distribution and delivery platform which provides world class efficiency, experience and service quality to our customers.
  • Manage delivery of transformation / re-engineering initiatives and productivity saves in FTE and expense


Day to Day Business Oversight:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Cards Heads to support them on day-to-day management.
  • Ensure alignment between Region and Countries.
  • Manage business risks, including credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk, operational risk, fraud risk, cyber risk, and regulatory risk.
  • Set goals for each sales channel to align with overall sales goals, regularly reviewing and revising them to adapt to environmental changes.
  • Proactively co-ordinate initiatives to close any gaps to Plan.
  • Partner with O&T, Finance, Compliance, Legal, HR, CBORC, ICG and the Regional Consumer team to develop and co-ordinate the execution of the Consumer Banking business plan.
  • Represent the Consumer Business within Citi and externally as appropriate.
  • Embed a strong culture of ethics, compliance and controls.
  • Lead Client Obsession initiatives to drive focus on customer experience and maintain top NPS ratings.
  • Drive customer acquisition and net customer growth, as well as cross sell.
  • Drive digital in both servicing and acquisitions, continuing to innovate to maintain Citi at the top of mobile banking app store ratings.
  • Ensure audit readiness and strong controls at all times and secure successful internal and external audit results


People Management:
  • Manage the organisation with the right structure and right people to deliver business results.
  • Strategically develop talent with on the job training, stretch assignments, formal leadership programmes and other actions.
  • Be a coach and mentor and develop managerial skills of direct reports into high quality managers
