Junior Investment Manager
Job Description
Investment as a first line activity ensures the prudent management of the investment portfolios in the best interest of policyholders and shareholders, within the confines of the Market/Credit/Liquidity Risk Appetite and Capital framework as well as Asset Liability Matching. Consideration must also include relevant Policyholders' Expectations, Regulatory requirements as well as Insurance's Sustainability policies.
As a member of the investment team, the AVP Investment will support the CIO and SVP Investment to monitor and report on the investment activities and performance to internal stakeholders, and ensure the investment portfolios are managed in accordance to Group and Regulatory requirements. The AVP Investment is also required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders in the execution of the investment strategy.
Impact on the Business
• Monitor and report on the investment activities and performance
• Oversee the investment activities of the outsourced fund managers.
• Collaborate with the investment teams at Group Insurance and on strategic initiatives and projects.
Customers / Stakeholders
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including the local finance, actuarial, product and risk teams, the Group investment team and other control related functions within the bank.
• Work closely with other affiliated companies within organization and Alternative Investments.
Leadership & Teamwork
• Work with other members of the Singapore investment team on all matters relating to the management of the investment portfolios and execution of investment strategies.
• Work with other stakeholders locally in Singapore and within the Group
Operational Effectiveness & Control
• Develop and enhance investment governance and standard.
• Monitor and ensure Investment Policy, risk limits, Group and Regulatory requirements are continuously met.
As a successful applicant, you would have the following Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Solid experiences in insurance and asset management industry.
• Additional professional qualifications in Finance, Actuarial or Investment such as CFA is a plus.
• Understanding in investment operations and systems is preferred.
Knowledge and experience:
• 3 to 5yr professional experience in portfolio management, analytics, investment processes, governance and oversight with insurance companies or insurance-linked asset management companies.
• Understanding in derivatives, alternative investments is important consideration.
• Familiar with derivatives such as FX forward, cross currency swap, CDS, IRS, equity options, total return swap.
Competencies:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Strong team player and able to collaborate with other staffs
• Organisation and planning, detailed-oriented
• Results oriented to deliver good quality results in a consistent and timely manner
