Your key responsibilities:

This position requires a keen and highly proactive application support analyst who is capable of working independently under pressure. This role will offer the opportunities to work on the world top-tier front to back Equity Trade Life Cycle platform and will be actively participating in initiatives to improve platform stability and performance.

This role is responsible for providing first and second line support of applications used by the Equities, Corporate Desk and Wealth Management business. There is a primary responsibility for managing incidents / application outages and proactive involvement in follow-up actions of production management. Timely and regular communication to stake holders is expected.
  • Working on a shift basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for start of day checks when covering the early shift and required to cover rotations of weekend work for releases, testing and weekend checkouts to accommodate the business start of week needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of global End of Day (EOD) batches.
  • Provide the highest level of service managing day-to-day support of Equities application systems which include execution and order management systems, risk and PnL pricing systems, Trade Life Cycle booking systems from front to back office.
  • Located in Hong Kong office, the successful candidate will be required to maintain close working relation with regional and global business users, as well as other groups in Technology, to ensure issues are addressed and communicated in a timely manner to meet agreed SLA's.
  • Work closely with developers and business analysts to coordinate system rollouts and application updates and providing feedback on production system performance, and investigate production problems and identify solutions.
  • Managing and resolving outages as efficiently as possible with a demonstrated ability to maintain communications with all stakeholders until resolution.
  • Driving operating procedure excellence in incident management, change management and problem management
  • Proactively identifying potential production issues across the application stack and determining areas for continuous improvement

Your skills and experience:
  • 5+ years working experience in a similar role.
  • Educated to degree level in engineering or science discipline.
  • Experience working within production support within a financial services organization
  • Good system knowledge of Unix/Linux, Messaging Middleware (MQ, EMS, RV), market data, Oracle and networks.
  • Familiar with UNIX shell scripts, Perl and Python.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience with FIX Protocol.
  • Knowledge of Asia cash markets behavior (e.g. TSE, OSE, HKEx, ASX, SGX, KRX, TFX, NSE)
  • Proactive, has initiative, diligent, hardworking, willing to learn.
  • Team player as well as being able to work independently, ability and experience in leading a team would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to work under pressure in time sensitive trading environment
  • Experience with ITRS, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Java VM, Windows, Ansible, control-M and Geneos would be an added advantage
