Details of the Division and Team:

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)'s mission is to shape Bank strategy and lead risk management at enterprise level, unconstrained by risk types and geographies, together with ERM's partners in Risk and the Bank. ERM manages the enterprise-level risk management framework so that all risks are identified, owned and controlled Bank-wide, and within the agreed risk appetite and culture.

As part of this remit, ERM is leading efforts within Risk to develop a climate risk management framework encompassing governance, risk identification and monitoring, scenario analysis and risk appetite setting. The Risk Frameworks Specialist, Climate Risk/ESG will be responsible for all aspects of this development work, working in close coordination with SMEs across Risk and more widely and ensuring that our climate risk framework is aligned with evolving regulatory requirements

Your key responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and, where relevant, updating Risk's climate risk taxonomy
  • Developing methodologies and metrics to enable us to monitor portfolio emissions and carbon intensity and set Paris-aligned targets
  • Scenario design and methodology development for scenario analysis
  • Design of qualitative and quantitative risk appetite framework
  • Regular engagement with individuals from across Risk to ensure that framework development is reflected in relevant policies and procedures
  • Gap analysis to evolving regulatory and investor expectations and establishment of project plans to close those gaps
  • Drafting of public disclosures on climate risks (example: Annual Non-Financial Risk Report)

Your skills and experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a risk management function within a financial institute or investment bank, with a strong understanding of financial and non-financial risks.
  • Experience in climate risk management frameworks encompassing governance, ESG, risk identification and monitoring, scenario analysis and risk appetite setting
  • Good understanding of climate transition and / or physical risks and how these can impact the banking sector and up to date with the evolving regulatory landscape and with current industry best practice.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management across business lines, building constructive partnerships with diverse stakeholders, and the ability to record and describe complex issues clearly and succinctly, in a way that are easily understandable by any recipient of the relevant topics
  • Hands-on working approach with good analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently, excellent time management skills
  • Confidence in challenging the status quo and superior relationship management skills.
  • Ability to independently liaise with senior management and present information to senior management in an appropriate way (quality and format).
  • Confidence in handling and analyzing large amount of data and information to derive meaningful analyses and recommendations
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skill incl. Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirement applies
