Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated investment service team that leverages data and emerging technologies to provide services for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC's global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.

Data Solutions & Services (DSS) is the partner of choice for all investment data related activities in GIC; the department comprises business data operations, business data services and analytics, asset valuation & analytics, investment book of record and investment data services & analytics.

Within the DSS division, the Business Data Operations team is responsible for all data operations to support our public markets investment capabilities. We are a team of data domain subject matter subjects, providing highly quality and timely data used across the Organisation. The team is also responsible for operationalization of data services for all investment strategies & new product lines, leveraging a range of expertise and through the establishment of strategic partnerships across the firm and in the market, to embed and enforce best practices in data operating models.

We are looking for a suitable candidate for an Associate position in Business Data Operations (2 years contract). You will be a key partner and contributor to strengthen the Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) as a core enterprise strategic asset for GIC. In this role you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Management of static data setup
  • Undertake stewardship of all SSI services as a key payment control function
  • Act as the first port of call for all SSI subject matter advisory services
  • Contribute to the implementation of the SSI CoE vision and product roadmap

Responsibilities

  • Manage SSI related data operations, including setup, investigation and resolution of data quality issues independently in a timely and efficient manner
  • Handle operational and non-routine queries/request from business users in a professional and timely manner
  • Participate in the review and adaptation/improvement to existing processes and workflows within Division to achieve higher effectiveness and efficiency
  • Participate actively in the design and implementation of the SSI CoE vision and SSI platform product roadmap
  • Establish strong rapport and engagement with business users and internal/external stakeholders to better anticipate and address their needs

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance or Accountancy
  • Strong control mindset and meticulous approach
  • Preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience in fund management or banking industry or data management industry.
  • Experience with payment market utilities, eg DTCC OA and SWIFT preferable
  • Passion for data and process-oriented analysis with strong analytic and business diagnostic skills
  • Possess good knowledge of financial instruments and markets
  • Self-starter with strong learning agility and aptitude
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
