As a Barclays Macro / Credit Valuation Controller you will be providing independent oversight of the fair values associated with the firm's trading portfolios. This includes performing regular price verification, providing oversight of provision and reserve methodologies and regular measurement and reporting of Regulatory Prudent Valuations. What will you be doing?
  • Working closely with the Front Office, Risk & PC-Line to control positions in the Asia Macro / Credit business including cash products, vanilla and structured derivatives.
  • Exercising knowledge of the Price Testing, Fair Value Adjustment & Market Data Uncertainty calculation methodologies
  • Applying technical skills and understanding of complex bookings whilst improving existing processes and methodologies
  • Collaborating closely with the global Credit PC-Valuations teams across different locations and time zones
  • Providing independent valuations, analysis, reporting and ad-hoc investigations covering the full spectrum of products in the Macro / Credit business line
  • Communicating and escalating valuations or business related observations on an ongoing basis to PC-Valuations management
  • Maintaining general control governance, completeness, and relevant documentation
  • Addressing questions or requests from audit, control teams and regulators as required
What we're looking for:
  • Degree in Finance or a numerical discipline
  • Experience and technical understanding of cash and derivative products commonly traded in Macro / Credit business
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and discuss complex issues with stakeholders from Trading, Finance, Risk and other areas
  • Understanding of programing languages such as VBA, Python, Alteryx, HypercubeSkills that will help you in the role:

  • Attention to details, good analytical skills both qualitatively and quantitatively
  • Problem solving and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing business events
