As a Barclays Employee Compliance AVP, you will have an amazing opportunity to help Barclays to manage firm and personal conflicts more effectively while ensuring employees continue to uphold the Barclays Values and Behaviors. You will roll up into the broader Compliance Services pillar. You will effectively manage the various day-to-day critical activities including employee queries related to the various Employee Compliance.

What will you be doing?
  • Providing coverage on employee compliance activities such as clearance of requests, exceptions including issuing breaches
  • Understanding, explaining and advising on Employee Compliance policy requirements within the team itself, to the Compliance department more broadly and Barclays employees as required
  • Embedding and ensuring high control standards and high-quality work product through four eyes checks and supervisory reviews
  • Attending relevant group calls as required (for example, being present at a Global team call for the PA dealing team)
  • Supporting the development of activities relating to Employee Compliance Surveillance
  • Managing various key strategic initiatives and independently working on key deliverables (local and global)
  • Assisting with the quality assurance of Employee Compliance functions
  • Assisting with any technology project including UAT Testing
What we're looking for:
  • Significant experience in Financial Services industry with at least three to five years of experience in compliance or other risk control function
  • Experience of working with global teams and leading strategic projects, proficiency in application of the various MS Office Tools (i.e. PowerPoint, Access etc)
  • Ability to assess issues and escalate as necessary, work independently and escalate as necessary
  • Post-Graduation (or equivalent) degree
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Flexible approach and the ability to handle a varied portfolio and a high-volume workload, ability to anticipate and provide solutions to complex problems, attention to detail
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and must be able to communicate with employees at all levels within the company, effectively manage demanding priorities
  • Knowledge of Employee Compliance areas (Personal Account Dealing, Private Investments, Outside Affiliations, Gifts and Entertainment etc.) is mandatory
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory concepts, analyze and interpret regulatory rules and their impact on the business, understanding of core investment banking business lines and products
