Junior Quant Analyst and Trader, Equities

Overview of role

We are looking for a Quantitative Equities Junior Analyst cum Trader based in Singapore. Candidates with no relevant experience may be considered for a contract position with the opportunity for conversion to permanent.

• Analyze data from various providers and identify winning trends through statistical analysis and introduce them to stock selection and portfolio construction.
• Maintain and clean up raw data from providers to feed into existing models
• Perform the duty of a trader and place orders when the main trader is not available.
• Always be in compliance with internal compliance as well as laws applied to the industry.
• Be trained in and perform the role of backup trader when trader is not around.
• Prepare investment and performance reports for the management team and clients.

Essential Skills

• Degree graduate in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Business with 1-2 years of investment analysis experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent reasoning and analytical ability
• Great presentation and communication skills
• Ability to work either independently, or with in-house analysts to draw investment ideas/conclusions
• Strong excel skills
• Basic programming skills (SQL, python etc) will be an added advantage
