The Investment Management Singapore is looking for a Business Development Manager for Institutional Business based in Singapore. This position manages the institutional distribution activities with a major focus on building and expanding the business in South East Asia region. The role will report to the Head of Institutional Business Development for Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sales strategy for SEA Institutional Distribution Business that is consistent with the overall BNY Mellon Investment Management sales strategy
  • Act as first point of contact for institutional clients, prospects, financial institutions, on BNY Mellon Investment management's products or services
  • Grow and maintaining existing clients and assets
  • Maintain an understanding of the full range of BNY Mellon Investment Management products for providing suitable solutions to clients
  • Coordinate and ensure delivery of after sales service to clients
  • Ability to build mutually valuable relationships with clients and prospects in SEA that meet their needs while also aligning with BNY Mellon IM's long-term revenue and profitability goals
  • Support business development, assist in the production of various types of materials such as due diligence questionnaires, requests for proposals and presentations/reports - working with relevant teams
  • Participate in various marketing seminars/roundtables and event planning, aid in market data analysis and research
  • Keep appropriate records In Salesforces of sales activities including call meeting notes, prospective client contacts, activity against targets etc.
  • Produce business plans and maintaining robust pipeline of business opportunities
  • Liaise with Marketing to ensure the appropriate activities are undertaken to support the product range
  • Work within the matrix environment of a global institution, having the flexibility to work effectively and collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple simultaneous priorities and initiatives
  • Working hand in hand with other BNY Mellon teams (e.g. Product, Client Services, Marketing, Operations, Legal and Compliance) and our Investment firms in order to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency
  • Entrepreneur mentality with strong teamwork attitude

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree holder (Business, Marketing or Finance related)
  • At least 8+ years of total work experience in which 5+ years within Business Development and Asset Management industry is preferred
  • Experience in Account management, client services/sales support role, preferably in Institutional Business
  • Fluent in English and an additional language among SEA countries
  • Excellent computer skill, experience in Salesforce, Morningstar and Bloomberg Terminal would be advantageous
  • Strong Investment acumen
  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
  • Able to work well in a team, highly self-motivated with the ability to execute independently
  • Strong passion for connecting with people , and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Existing industry profile and strong relationships in SEA is preferred and could be a differentiator
