The Business Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a professional team or department. The team drives the overall administrative activities of the business. These tasks may include managing external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The Business Manager coordinates and manages activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs as necessary. Manages ad hoc projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with local and regional business management team to ensure alignment of business goals
  • Manage a team by providing technical knowledge, coaching, evaluation, determining hiring etc.
  • Assist leadership and stakeholders with developing projects, determining strategies, and defining/providing metrics
  • Advance control framework including executing Manager's Control Assessment testing, operational loss processes, and corrective actions
  • Prepare materials, record minutes, and follow-up as needed on items for business committees and/ or regular business meetings
  • Seek out sources, track, consolidate and analyze ad-hoc and regular business requests
  • Drive implementation of business-driven projects across functions, working closely with relevant senior leadership
  • Provide input into and recommend technology change, process improvements and control framework enhancements
  • Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for control related issues and remedial action is taken
  • Communicate business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to business and internal support functions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years of experience in financial markets business or business support
  • Experience with foreign exchange and/or interest rate products preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred

To provide partnership and guidance to the Global Capital Markets Business in the Global Capital Markets COO team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Platform Strategy: Lead the formation and delivery of global and regional platform related initiatives for the Capital Markets business across technology, business processes and where relevant supervision and governance frameworks. Partner with the Platform innovation team on all relevant transformational technology projects. Focus on delivery of a full suite of 'client to balance sheet' solutions.
  • Partnership: Broaden the platform partnership with Citi Markets and identify clear lines of governance/oversight around the share platform solutions
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and own, 'run the bank' projects to achieve the business objectives of the management team.
    • Lead or oversee delivery of key long-term projects
    • Manage a network of regional platform managers in the delivery of the business strategy
  • Business Management: Support the Asia Capital Markets business in the day-to-day management of the business in collaboration with regional business partners and managers
  • Interface with Control Functions : Interface with control functions - compliance, risk, legal, tax, operations and technology on strategic initiatives and communicate key specific issues with relevant teams as needed
