Your team responsibilities

MSCI's fast track for Sales Specialists and Consultants provides a 3-month intensive to accelerate your career and set you up for success. Depending on your location and skill set you will be offered a role as a Sales Specialist or Consultant in either ESG and Climate, Index, Analytics or Real Assets. You'll learn from the expertise of the team around you, and we'll give you all the support, tools, and encouragement you need. You will be a trusted partner, using your knowledge of the investment process to work with clients and identify solutions.

All roles start with a 3-month learning journey across Client Coverage, beginning with Global Orientation. This will provide an understanding of our operating model, products, solutions, and culture, followed by a series of short desk experiences across ESG/Climate, Analytics, Index and Real Assets (our Product Lines), depending on your location, enabling you to be truly client-centric and complementing your permanent role at MSCI. Your key responsibilities

Our Sales Specialists and Consultants are responsible for new business development and deepening existing client relationships. You will be involved in all aspects of the sales cycle, identifying opportunities, conducting product demonstrations, managing relationships, negotiating contracts, and closing sales. All coverage teams work together to ensure every touch point contributes to a world-class client experience. You will contribute to team targets from day one and should be motivated by this performance-based culture.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

We want creative thinkers, intelligent people with a desire for success and leadership potential. You should have strong analytical skills, an understanding of the investment management process, and experience in a commercial sales position within financial services. You will navigate hurdles with entrepreneurial spirit, have excellent communication and relationship management skills. Depending on the product line for your role, you will need to bring experience and demonstrate expertise in that area, for example, ESG/Climate, Index, Analytics or Real Assets. Required
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject
  • 1-2 years' industry experience (Analyst Level) or 3-5 years industry experience (Associate Level)
  • Understanding and knowledge of your product line, e.g., ESG/Climate, Index, Analytics or Real Assets
  • Understanding of the investment management process and trends in the investment industry
  • Superior communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Motivated and able to thrive in a targeted sales environment (depending on role)
Desirable
  • Postgraduate degree (e.g., Masters, MBA) or CFA, CMA, FRM, or equivalent qualifications
  • Subject matter expertise within your product line, e.g., ESG/Climate, Index, Analytics or Real Assets
  • Sales or client service experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience with SalesForce is preferable but not required
Note: We will hire at Analyst or Associate level depending on experience and qualifications.
