The Role Responsibilities
The role holder will

  • 12+ Years of experience
  • Head up and manage the development and maintenance of retail bank's regional IRB models
  • Model Owner for local IRB models for Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan
  • Regulatory models for MAS, BNM and the PRA
  • Represent ERA in engagements with country, regulators, stakeholders, and committees
  • Assessment and identification of model requirements and concerns from regulators
  • Conceptualise the model roadmap for the region
  • Embed new risk types into regulatory models (i.e., climate risk) and new modelling approaches (machine learning)
  • Support the increase IRB model coverage through new models (i.e., Wealth Management and Private Banking)
Strategic
  • Responsible for the delivery of models to stakeholders - both internal (in Business Risk and Business) and Regulators.
  • Support the Global Head model development in the development of ERA strategic plans to drive ERA vision and purpose
Internal and Regulatory compliance
  • Ensure models are developed and maintained in-line with the applicable policies and standards.
  • Comply with the Operational Risk Framework.
  • Proactively support the implementation of Model Risk policy.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of bank's model risk standards.
People and Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations for the teams and work in collaboration with all relevant partners.
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality people.
Other responsibilities
Business

  • Communicate and provide models and other relevant associated information to senior management and ERA teams explaining large complex quantitative data analytics at a level that will be understood by all stakeholders
  • Understanding business/ business risk stakeholders' expectations and external stakeholders (regulators)

Our Ideal Candidate
Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Banking Industry Experience.
  • Extensive experience of working in the model development teams (IRB), Scorecard & IFRS9 models.
  • Master's Degree in Banking / Statistics / from a well-reputed university.
  • Demonstrable team management experience.
  • Excellent Stakeholder management.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience from a line management perspective but additional in support of virtual teams across multiple organisational functions.
