Associate, External Managers, Hedge Fund Investments

External Managers Department
The External Managers Department identifies and develops relationships with global investment managers to benefit GIC and outperform our benchmarks. We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our team as a Portfolio Manager. The role will be based in Singapore. The candidate will be part of the investment team which is responsible for external managers due diligence, selection, monitoring and portfolio construction. Candidates should have prior work experience in investment management, and preferably in hedge fund evaluation.

Responsibilities
•Support senior investment personnel in sourcing, hiring, and monitoring external managers
•Conduct comprehensive due diligence on investment strategies and report findings to the investment committee
•Perform ad hoc analyses, including periodic industry research, to assist the team in border decision-making
•Maintain internal databases and create helpful analytical tools

Requirements
•At least 2 to 4 years of fund allocator and/or capital market experience
•Strong interest in hedge fund investing and manager selection
•Comfort in conducting 1-on-1 meetings with external parties and synthesizing insights for colleagues
•Superior attention to detail in performing quantitative analyses that will ultimately support our investment decisions
