Telenor Asia HQ in Singapore is driving business development and structural activities in Asia, in addition to overseeing each of the four main operating companies (OpCos) in Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Telenor Asia HQ consist of competency centers and expert functions covering areas like 1) GRC, HSS & Sustainability; 2) Business Development & Technology; 3) External Relations 4) People & Operations and 5) Finance. In addition, there are Investment Manager teams responsible for oversight of each OpCo.

The M&A team has a Group wide role with currently 5 employees located at the Group HQ in Oslo, 3 at the Telenor Asia HQ in Singapore and 1 in Islamabad.

We are now looking for a new colleague in the position VP, M&A to join Telenor Asia HQ in Singapore.

As an VP, M&A you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Define the M&A strategy and overall portfolio assessment, and recommend M&A targets
  • Ensure that M&A transactions and activities are conducted professionally and according to Telenor's policies and procedures
  • Drive in-market consolidation and other structural/partner opportunities
  • Seek partnerships or structural deals to improve efficiency and cost
  • Lead M&A projects and cross-functional teams / advisors from idea phase to hand-over. The team will interface with management and stakeholders in Group and Business Areas
  • Proactively contribute to M&A strategy to build pipeline and prioritize targets
  • Support M&A execution, due diligence, valuation, negotiations and structuring
  • Take an active role in developing Group M&A


We think you have the following qualifications and skills:
  • Relevant University/Master's degree with good results
  • Several years of well documented project management experience from a range of transactions and negotiations in Asia
  • Strong knowledge and connections within the telecom industry is an advantage
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, other languages are an advantage
  • Multi-cultural and cross-functional team experience
  • Strong analytical skills with focus on accuracy as well as ability to understand the total picture and manage several activities at a time
