Data Strategy Group (DSG) harnesses and leverages on GIC's most valuable asset - Data, to drive insights, results and solve real business challenges. We ingest, analyse, and combine data with context across all industries and asset classes to enable investment decisions and enhance investment process. Together, we strive to build a high-performance enterprise data infrastructure, create results-driven approach with data products and strive to be a data-driven organization.

You will be a part of our DSG's Data Management team, leading the Enterprise Data Management and our Central Data Services Layer team. This is a key role in expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as looking after the operation and requests from multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities
As the Enterprise Data Management Lead, reporting to the Head of Data Management, you will be responsible for building out the function, and strategically collaborating to build GIC's future data services.

Responsibilities leading our Enterprise Data Management team include:

• Working closely with Research and Investment Data Management team leaders, Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams to build our future modern data stack and ELT Services to drive the evolution through leveraging your experiences in cloud, data transformation, data management and lifecycle
• As part of our share-all data methodology, you would be managing our Data Mesh (DSL) Operations team and responsible for setting SLAs, identifying automation opportunities, and collaborating with our Engineering, Architecture and Governance teams to improve the services robustness
• Helping to power our data mesh through discoverability services such as access controls and catalogue services, you would be managing the Data Lifecycle Management team who would be responsible for data registration, data access controls and data quality management
• Partnering with the wider Technology Group, Data Strategy Group and Business Unit Leaders to create innovative products and solutions to drive business' needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI or equivalent numeric degree
• At least 5 years' experience of working in data engineering and/or data management
• Experienced team manager
• Demonstrable experience of data-in-cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Demonstrable experience of ELT technologies that may include Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, dbt
• Demonstrable experience of SQL and any scripting language, such as Python, Java Script, Perl, or Bash
• Understanding on OLTP, Data Lake and Lakehouse technologies that may include knowledge of S3, AWS Glue, DeltaLake or DataBricks
• Experienced with the Systems Development Life Cycle implementation methodology (SDLC) and/or agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, DataOps and their applicability in financial services. Knowledge of Apache Airflow
• Exposure to data meshes, such as Denodo, advantageous
• Excellent written and spoken English
