Overview of the Role

Citi's Personal Banking & Wealth Management Technology (PBWMT) organization serves the Personal Banking and Wealth Management suite of products providing a full range of innovative and comprehensive set of services. Our businesses also offer industry-leading advanced technology, a strong worldwide presence and a powerful global franchise.

Reporting to the PBWMT PMO Divestiture Head for Asia and EMEA , Senior IT Program manager should be managing strategic initiatives and programs related to Divestiture. Full management & leadership responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. Good understanding of how the Citi Tech teams integrate with other teams to accomplish the objectives of the subfunction / job family. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Developed communication and stakeholder management skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information and to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Knowledge of Information Security Policies and procedures and have perfect track record of the quality deliverables. Meets all the quality deliverables and maintains the metrics KPI's.

The IT Project Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all technology components of the development & implementation of major/multiple/highly complex projects; may manage enterprise-wide projects.
  • Managing communication and process planning calls with Global team across US , APAC and EMEA
  • Managing large team of skilled offshore Project managers
  • Plan and create offshore scrum teams to drive resource strategy plans
  • Collaborates in development of project business and strategies.
  • Communicates with staff and clients with respect to status, plans, decisions, and roadmap.
  • Utilizes project management tools and governance frameworks to manage portfolio.
  • Leads process improvement efforts.
  • Ambassadors the improvements in business processes, system processes in line with company standards.
  • Applies good understanding of how the team integrate with others in accomplishing objectives.
  • Mentors and coaches' new members, provides safe and transparent working culture to operate
  • Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
  • Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.
  • Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed.
  • Sets guidelines for appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how IT project leadership integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
  • Organizing workshops with participants from different domains of business, operations, compliance, audit & technology groups to derive common goals
  • Driving the Regional Steering Committee meetings, facilitating meetings with cross-functional program/project stakeholders, reporting program status and representing Consumer Technology in forums and audit reviews related to the respective Programs
  • Managing a team of Senior Project Managers located across multiple locations in delivering the projects under the program using either Agile or Waterfall methodologies
  • Monitoring program financials and participate in the yearly technology budgeting for the program
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


To qualify for this role, the candidate must:
  • 15+ years of experience in Program management during which a structured approach (methodology) was applied to the successful management, tracking, planning, monitoring, and reporting of concurrent, multiple financial services projects spanning broad geographies and organizations
  • Experience through the full project lifecycle, from conception through rollout and ongoing support
  • 3+ years of experience in successfully managing complex technology projects and programs through the full project lifecycle, from conception through rollout and ongoing support
  • Experience building consumer facing applications and virtual technologies expertise is preferred. A rounded knowledge of all aspects of the technology stack in a large scale, complex organization is critical.
  • Excellent skills in communication, presentation, influencing others, negotiations, and leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience performing Internal and/or External Audit coordination
  • Individual should be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to travel internationally as required (when available)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MPP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Agile Tools: Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint
  • Finance / accounting knowledge or experience as a plus
  • Third Party Management knowledge or experience a plus
  • Master's/University degree or equivalent, PMP/Scrum Certification is a plus
