Research Analyst

Edge Capital Group, a $6 billion RIA based in Atlanta, is seeking an experienced research analyst to work within our Blue Current Asset Management division. Edge Capital is a top financial advisory firm that assists individuals, families, and institutions by creating tailored investment management and wealth planning solutions. Blue Current Asset Management is a division of Edge that manages three dividend growth strategies consisting of a US-centric strategy, a global strategy, and a non-US-developed market strategy. This individual will be responsible for supporting two senior portfolio managers with fundamental stock research within the global dividend growth universe. In addition, this individual is expected to provide operational and trading support to the three strategies. Depending on success and contribution, this role could develop into a portfolio management position.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Performing fundamental analysis on individual companies including financial statement analysis and model construction
• Conduct research across a wide range of industries and geographies
• Identify and recommend new investment ideas that are suitable for the specific strategies
• Maintain sellside relationships
• Exhibit strong communication skills with the ability to deliver a compelling investment thesis to buy or sell individual positions
• Experience in trading individual securities including ADRs and familiarity with the mechanics of initiating and settling trades across various jurisdictions
• Maintaining Blue Current’s investment platforms including UMA and model delivery, including uploading portfolio detail to Morningstar and similar financial analytic providers
• Support the broader firm’s holistic wealth management efforts by providing individual stock analysis for clients as needed.

Education or experience required

• We are looking for someone with at least five years of experience in individual stock analysis and who is passionate about fundamental equity research across a global and/or dividend growth universe. While not required, trading experience is a strong positive for a candidate.
• The ideal candidate would hold a CFA or would be currently pursuing or interested in pursuing the CFA charter.
• An undergraduate degree with an emphasis on finance, accounting, management consulting, or similar education.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Comfort with the adoption and use of new technology tools
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Factset, Morningstar, Black Diamond, Redblack (order management system)
