Job Overview:

This is a key role within the Private Banking Operations in Bank of Singapore that overseas Client-initiated Securities Transfers in the Global markets, across the various product classes. The individual will be leading the Asset Transfers team and working closely with the business on their clients' transfers.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Asset Transfers team, ensuring all Client-initiated requests are handled within the agreed SLAs and escalations are promptly attended to. This would also include effective management of any failed transfers, cash, and stock breaks
  • Manage staff resource allocations within the team, ensuring that there is active load balancing of activities across the team, ensuring an optimal delivery of services to the front office
  • The individual is also expected to be familiar with the changing regulatory landscape and be ready to prepare the team for any upcoming changes, including ensuring systems and processes are changed to facilitate these changes
  • With the increasing complexity of off-market transfers, the individual must be an enabler to the Front office, ensuring that complex transactions are coordinated across various stakeholders (including external stakeholders like custodians, share registrars). To be able to manage this, the individual must be familiar in dealing with the complex market rules and navigate solutions for the FO
  • Ensure essential procedures within the team are adhered to, and all processes are regularly reviewed and updated into operating manuals
  • Appropriately assess risk when decisions must be made for exceptional cases, ensuring that any decisions are always taken in accordance with the bank's policies and internal guidelines. The individual must exhibit sound and ethical judgement regarding behaviors, conduct and business practices. Where necessary, the individual must always escalate promptly, and deal with issues in a transparent manner

Qualifications

Requirements
  • At least 10 years relevant experience in running an Asset Transfers-related function in a private bank
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing new processes or changing existing processes
  • A forward thinker who also has strong client centric mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact effectively with various stakeholders (Front Office, custodians, counterparties, etc.)
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team
  • Effective verbal, written communication and analytical skills
