The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Responsible for the ongoing governance and iteration of TTO's overall Strategy and the definition and tracking of the metrics to measure and track its success.
  • Responsible for defining the framework and governance structure to drive the execution of TTO's Strategy on behalf of the CTTOO and TTO COO, in partnership with the TTO MT.
  • Responsible for executing the defined framework and governance structure, including the tracking of both financial and non-financial benefits, to provide a holistic view of the progress of TTO's Strategy.
  • Work with senior leaders to develop and execute a business aligned TTO strategy that meets the goals and needs of TTO and the Bank's overall transformation agenda. Play a key role in the annual strategy update for TTO.
  • Develop and drive strategic initiatives, in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategically aligned leadership and direction to cross-business/ function initiatives during early stages, on request from CTTOO, TTO COO, or business/ domain/ geography CIOs/COOs.
Business
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
  • Influence the TTO delivery responses and solutions to critical business problems.
  • Forge deep relationships with CIO and COO business lines to ensure understanding and alignment of TTO strategy and delivery.
  • Drive the development and adoption of common foundation systems, components, and services to be used by different businesses/ functions/ geographies.
  • Jointly develop change and communications plan and initiatives with the respective TTO teams to ensure the Strategy and subsequent updates are actively shared across TTO organisation.
  • Partners with the Bank's Group Strategy team and respective Business representatives to ensure alignment between TTO Strategy, Business Strategies, and the banks broader Group Strategy.

People & Talent
  • Champion and act as a role model of the Group's values and culture. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with all relevant business partners.
  • Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring everyone in the Bank are drivers and owners of client outcomes.
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality people.
  • Ensure team structure/capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes, and succession plans for critical roles are in place.
  • Ensure the provision of on-going training & development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risk.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Create a motivational and challenging environment for staff which is conducive to creativity and performance with customer centricity in mind.
Risk Management
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the transformation & change agenda for TTO and the role the individual plays in managing them.
  • The ability to interpret the Group's financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment associated with the development of TTO's Strategy and related strategic initiatives to be executed in alignment to it and the TTO organisation.
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and, if necessary, escalated through the relevant committees.
Governance
  • Ensure objective of overseeing and retaining focus on planning, coordinating, and driving activities and initiatives required to deliver Strategy 25 and TTOs Corporate Plan sustainable save commitments across multiple investment portfolios and TTO domains.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in financial institutions and in transformation management and/or programme management within the Technology or Operations area. Previous management or technology consulting experience and agile delivery desirable.
  • Understands the industry, business and operational environment which are required to manage dependencies and priorities of initiatives across the organisation to ensure adherence to the overall TTO Strategy. Good understanding of programme and project benefits tracking (financial and non-financial related) is required.
  • Experience in operationalising, scaling and managing of a large scale and complex programme and/or programme management offices.
  • Demonstrates ability to concurrently own and work on multiple key areas independently or in a group within a large, rapidly changing environment to deliver high quality outcomes on time, even with limited direction.
  • Strong stakeholder management and alignment capability, including securing buy-in with senior stake holders and business leaders.
  • Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's / Master's degree in Engineering / Business / Finance or equivalent.
